Default Anybody want to crash this moron -fest?

I saw this email circulating around yesterday.

Then I thought it might be fun to show up with a bunch of vettes and do some burnouts!
Might cause a riot tho....

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Friend,

I would like to invite you to a first-of-its-kind event in Portland. In Reno, Nevada, they have an annual event called Hot August Nights, where big muscle cars cruise around town and gather in one location for the public to admire.

We've planned a street party on August 2nd (First Thursday) to celebrate the reattachment of the historic trestle between The Wyatt and the Bridgeport Brewery. I tried to think of a way to raise funds for environmental organizations at this event, when an idea struck me – a "sustainable" Hot August Nights – an event distinctly Portland!

The result is HOT GREEN! We’re going to cruise around Portland in sustainable cars, bikes and other green transportation and all end up beneath the trestle at NW 13th and Marshall, where everyone can enjoy an up-close look at sustainable cars, including SMART cars, hybrids, bio-diesels, Vespas, etc.

Bridgeport Brewery has graciously agreed to co-sponsor this event, with a portion of beer sales that evening to benefit two great environmental organizations. If your vehicle is sustainable, we invite you to join us in the parade. The parade will begin at 6:00 p.m. at NW 13th and Pettygrove, and conclude at NW 14th and Irving (where there will be reserved parking for sustainable cars). Our cruising route will be provided at the start of the parade. If you're unable to join us in the parade, but want to be part of this inaugural event, please come to NW 13th and Marshall.

Feel free to forward this message to your friends, family and co-workers. I hope to see you there!

Damn, you had me on the cigars but I'll be out of town leaving my carbon foot print on Maui.

I say go rent a Prius and put a little oil in the gas so it smokes like hell and join them. And of course take some big cigars.

lol More fun at Hot August nights in reno lol. less chance of seeing rain.

Hot august nights this year is the 5-12th & a bunch of us are heading down from here to go down.

The thing with Reno is the venders they get take off discounts. Summit racing takes 10% off & if you order parts then have them shipped you dont pay nv state taxes.

Aren't they defeating the whole purpose by cruising at all? Wouldn't they better serve the planet by staying in their parent's basements? The whole green movement is an absolute joke.

The green movement is where all the anti-capitalist commies went after their poster child (the USSR) disintegrated.

This area seems like a magnet; It attracts the wacko's and repels the rational producers who are pulling the "wagon."

Everyone with a daily driver such as a Hummer, dually, diesel, or large truck should bring it there and just sit and rev the engines.

Go nowhere and waste as much gas as you can. Green people really love big trucks!

I must be doing something wrong because I never see numbers like that. Maybe I'm driving to fast? Nah...it must be something else.

I can't bring a vette since I sold the C5, but I can bring a Dodge Cummins, she makes quite a bit of smoke, Tire*Exhaust= with the box set on 140..

Don't forget to pour in some engine cleaner before you drive by.

I'm trying to remember who around here drives a hybrid. I just can't put my finger on it. Hmmm...

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Me...2007 Mercury Mariner Hybrid SUV...30 mpg back and forth to work...but nothing's better than changing over to the Vette when I get home, putting the top down and stomping on the gas.

I am for anyone driving anything that makes them happy!!

But, I can't stomach the sanctomonius dolts who believe that global climate change , which occurs in geological time (not decades or even centuries), can be impacted by what car a person drives.

It makes me
