Default My car is a target for flying objects

I've been driving since 1974 and have never had a piece of debris strike my car until I started driving a C6. A few months ago returning from a meeting in Hood River a big truck lost it's mud flap which struck the lower front of the nose. I was able to clay bar the scratch away.

Yesterday I was driving to the coast and a crank for lifting the front of a travel trailer came flying of a trailer going the opposite direction and slammed right below the front grill. It did not damage the body at all but thoroughly tore up the lower spoiler on the driver's side. It also took out a bunch of other stuff under the car in the same area and the brake vent. I haven't jacked it up yet to survey the damage but I will and post some pictures. I'm sure it's going to cost me at least a few hundred to repair. If anyone has a cut away view of the area under the car directly in front of the wheel I'd appreciate it.

I guess I should be thankful that in both cases the object went under the car and not up into the winshield. If that trialer lift had started going end it could killed someone. I had no chance of chasing the culprit because they were going the opposite direction and there was no where to pull over for about a mile and a half. Traffic was also very heavy. Initially I thought the damage was limited to the lower spoiler but on further observation it is much worse.

That blows!

I haven't gotten hit by more than a few rocks. Give Terry a call, I'm sure he would let you put it on his lift and then you can see just how bad the damage is.

I really dodged a bullet on this one. It looks like I'll need to replace three pieces of plastic. A couple inches one way or the other could have really caused some major damage or worse.

I had not washed the car since returning from the coast so please excuse the bugs.

I hit a bale of hay and two deer at the same time with my old truck . I already had damaged the roof , tailgate and rear bumper when a tree tried to "mate" with my truck upon it's rather quick removal from this earth . Deer + hay + tree = damage to every body panel .

I ran over a dead pig on I-5 near Medford about 30 years ago. Fortunately it was in my Datsun 510 station wagon . (A real "chick magnet.")

No real damage, but I had the strange desire for BLT sandwiches for the next month.

They have two Z06's at Suburban with less than 100 miles...
2007's...and and 01 with less than 20 thousand miles.

Ken has the Z06 fever I can tell.

I ordered the parts today and it came out much less than I expected. $105 for everything which includes eight bolts at $3.88 each . I could have saved a couple dollars going with a forum vendor but this way it will be waiting for me on the shelve when I return from Maui.
