Default EuropeanCorvette buyers - 'pimps, drug dealers and people who can't afford a Porsche'?

hey,I am a member of GMinsidenews forum board,we have a member there who is very active but very often doesn't think before making a comment. In my opinion he is simply frustrated that he can't afford his dream car which is a brand new BMW M5 and drives only a Vauxhall Vectra.

As far as I know this guy doesn't know a thing about the European Corvette scene. I am sure he is welcome to come to one of the big meets and ask the people in person if they are pimps or drug dealers.
Sure there will be pimps and drug dealers driving Corvettes, but they will also be driving Ferraris, Lamborghinis and Porsches...

That's funny. I don't think I've met anyone like that in the German American Corvette club or at any of the Corvette shows I have been to around Europe. As far as affording Porsche, I think most of the people that I know could easily have purchased a Porsche (or two) but why would they want to?

OK, I admit I have test driven and would consider the SUV, but once again the VW is so similar and so much less in price and if you get the V10, then it out performs the Porsche with better fuel economy for less.....much like a Vette does.

I even considered a used Ferrari (so maybe that goes beyond my limits of reasonable price for a vehicle when you are that far into the 6 fiures ranges), but I don't have the time, money or patients to have one of their mechanics living with me to keep it running as a daily driver. As a weekend car, it might be nice to have one some day.

Sounds like good old jealousy to me.

hello from Iraq to all my European friends...can't wait to come back to Germany for summer 2007! That poor guy is quite misguided..probably has never been to Europe. I've yet to meet someone fitting that description amongst all the european corvette meetings I have been to..and I have been to Italy,Germany, France, Luxembourg & Austria to meet up with European corvette owners, and they have all been great people to spend time with.

Sounds like he wants one, but can't give the car credit, and this is how he acts out. Kind of like Asop's fables, the fox and the grapes.

So, does that mean if we eventually decide to move to Europe and take our Vette with us, we have to become pimps and drug dealers??

We considered a Ferrari and a Lambo but we decided to buy six cars instead..... we are working on a seventh, maybe a C6 - who knows....

you wouldn't think with all that dealin' and pimpin' we would have the time to keep up with six cars!!!

I have bought a new C6 in the Uk and I have to say If I wanted to buy a Porsche or Jag I could have but I wanted the looking car for the buck & the best spec & something you don't see on every corner in London!
Very few C6 vettes in the Uk and at £50k Uk pounds thay are priced at the higher end of the market. This is my 4th Vette & I love it

For those of us who paid cash for their new Vette, and learned not to honor a bad argument by trying to argue with it, I hope he enjoys this forum as much as I do.
