Poor Z

I see them around here pretty regularly. Very nice looking vehicles, especially as M40i. Surprised they haven't made an M version yet.

Let's not pretend the failure of the Z has anything to do with manual transmissions. It has to do with the fact that it's overpriced, came.out 6 years too late, and has been available in such limited quantities that dealers are ove charging, but also not selling well enough to justify building more.
They also totally missed the market, it's $7k cheaper than a much nicer, much better equipped, has a backseat M240i.
Nissan need to find another 75hp in the tune, drop the price $7500, and quadruple inventory. Then it might sell.

BMW is doing something for the Z4, very shortly a manual can be ordered, (2025 model year) they also are giving it some updates to suspension and a bit wider rear tire. Based on early interest on the forums BMW will sell a good number of them, no constraints so a Z4 manual should be able to be ordered fairly easily….big difference from a manual Supra cause Toyota seems to put a million roadblocks up to keep the numbers low.

Nissan Z Performance and Z Nismo. Trying them out alongside the C8 and other stablemates.

How do you like the Z so far? Have yet to see one on the road around here. Really like the concept of the updated Z - twin turbo V6 with 400 horsepower and a manual (not avail in the NISMO). Reviews have been a bit mixed, so curious as to your take.

Dunno why, but the white NISMO looks much better than the black one.

Both the Z and the Supra are nothing to look at. That’s why you bought a Vette.

Haha...
I think they are both great. The Z Performance is more of a comfortable GT car while still having sport credentials.
The Z Nismo is more track oriented, a more visceral and enhanced experience. The suspension is tighter and more dialed in.
Both Zs have a ton of power and more than enough to break traction in 1st and 2nd gears.
They are a bit expensive for what they are, but I guess everything is nowadays.
The new Z is basically the 350/370z with a more powerful engine. I think the reviews would have been much better if this car was lesser priced and had come out with the twin turbo 10 -15+ years ago.
A lot of people would agree with you.
The Vette is a looker and performer for sure. Vette gets looks and attention from all people in general. The Zs get looks from more specific car enthusiasts.
Lol.

Recently purchased a CPO 2021 Z4 M40i, really enjoy it so far. The B58 engine is phenomenal, can’t say enough great things about it from its low end tq to its fuel sipping efficiency. The 8 speed auto is well matched, with the Sport modes I have no need to use paddle shifters and just let the transmission do its thing. As a GT roadster, it was exactly what I was looking for.

Re: manual transmissions, the M2 comes with one, has really good reviews, and has a really high take rate. The only reason I went with the auto (which is fantastic btw) is because the M2 is my dd & I have my Callaway Z06 if I want to row the gears. Win/win

I saw the preview of the new Z4, and it looks very good. My wife really likes them and may end up with one.

The M2. For $69k, I was thinking about what you get compared to the C8 SR, for example.
Base Price: $63,200
Toronto Red Metallic: $650
19/20 jet black or bi-color wheels: $0
Choice of 3 different full leather interior pkgs with contrast stitching and M Sport seats: $0
Carbon fiber interior pkg: $800
Shadowline pkg (black exterior trim, exhaust tips, lug nuts): $300
Lighting pkg (adaptive LED lights, auto high beams): $650
Active (adaptive) Cruise Control: $500
Live cockpit pro with HUD: $1,100
Remote start: $300
Heated steering wheel: $200
Parking Assistant: $200
Wireless charging: $200
Personal eSim 5G network: $300
Manual 6-speed or auto 8-speed: $0
Choice of red or blue calipers: $0
3/36 all scheduled maintenance: $0
Options I didn't choose: Carbon fiber pkg (carbon fiber hartop roof, carbon fiber bucket race seats, carbon fiber interior trim): $9,900. Carbon fiber roof by itself: $2,600.
Total price with destination $69,395. Rated at 453 hp, but consistently dynoing 470 to the wheels. Sport mode, track mode, track cooling, active M rear diff. Adaptive/adjustable M suspension, Brembo brakes, Harman Kardon surround sound audio system, heated seats, M-color seat belts, interior ambient lighting, BMW assistant (Onstar), universal remote, lap timer, memory pkg, all the safety features/ alerts, 4/50 bumper to bumper warranty.
Comparable SR would need to be a 3LT to start.
Base price: $77,845
Red mist Metallic: $995
19/20 gloss black wheels: $995
two-toned seats: $595 + $695 color combo override
colored seat belts: $495
colored stitching: $495
Carbon fiber interior trim pkg: $1,500
Stealth interior trim pkg: $595
Z51 pkg: $6,345
Mag ride adjustable suspension: 1,895
Black lug nuts: $245
Black exhaust tips: $395
Black recovery hook: $105
1 complimentary maintenance service
Total price with destination: $93,890. The SR is a little quicker 0-60, pretty close 1/4, and just a little faster around the track. I don't even like the looks of the C8, but lets say I did, it's not a $25k better vehicle. Plus for $500 I can add a stage 2 tune to the M2 and increase the hp by another 125 or so. Can't do that with any Corvette.

And almost as nice as a Porsche.

The M2 is such a bargain right now. It's insane. The only better bargain is the M240i, lol.
