I remember in like 2012 when Ford told everyone their new GT500 was a 200mph car, when tested it wasn't even close.

I wouldn't be surprised to find out the Dodge 8.91 claim was a computer generated estimated best time.
thank you for that memory.

I just read a couple of articles about that i forgot it was that long ago 🤣

Interestingly enough Pobst did get the GT500 up to 196mph on a banked oval and said he thought it would do 200 om an interstate just needed a longer straightaway.

Ford claimed it had seen 200mph in Italy on some test track (was that speedo or test equipment?)

Good read nonetheless.

Ps - that was at 1900ft elevation. At sea level no doubt it would do 200mph imho. And I'm no Mustang fan. I actually dislike them I'm a camaro challenger person.

I didn't mention anything about Teslas, you did..... And that was a ~10 second pass. It's good Dodge refused to show the scoreboard/time on any runs they do.

I have raced enough to know that stock vs stock ,any stock is for the would be racers.
You race in class. Unless you are a novelty act and usually get paid for your pass. It does not
matter what kind of racing you are doing, you are in class. A EV should be racing against it's EV class..
Beating a Z06 Corvette or a Demon means nothing. Not in class. No compitition.

agreed. Its fun to compare apples to oranges but what matters at the end of the day is does what you own make you happy? And to be grateful for the ability to own that thing. When I was young I struggled. Married two little ones renting an apt in NYC. Wife and I grew up struggling. having anything that was reliable made us happy. As time passed everything changed including expectations.

So in the end any of these ridiculous cars are fantastic for different reasons and what a time to be alive (for an auto enthusiast).

HOLY $#!& LEVEL OF PERFORMANCE OF the 170
  • 1,025total horsepower at 6,500 rpm.
  • 945 lb.-ftof torque at 4,200 rpm.
  • The world's quickest 0-60 production car at 1.66 seconds.
  • The highest g-force acceleration of any production car at 2.004 Gs.
  • History's first-ever eight-second factory muscle car 8.91-seconds ET
You keep clinging to virtually unobtainable numbers that were achieved in ideal conditions that are unrealistic in 99% of all cases. Many people have taken out their Demon 170 to the track and most ran mid to upper 9's.
Plaid with 19" factory wheels runs within .2 of the 9.23 official time on every single run. Gutted Plaids run high 8's to low 9's all day.

You keep whining and thinking your word means something more than they do....we're not talking about consistency anyhow...the fact is the Challenger is FASTER than that ugly golf cart....NHRA says so...

Consistency might be nice when you're shitting...otherwise its not pertinent....Those Challenger runs were made in Las Vegas so not mine shaft air or perfect conditions either...

But go with your happy place space...If I had a 100k plus car suddenly worth about half I'd be looking for any positives I could invent in my head too...

I can't believe I wasted my time reading this 🤣

Every car I have ever owned or will own is slower than either car posted- and I'd still rather have my slow cars. There is a lot more to me than 0-60 or 1/4mi times

The NHRA (if the certification even actually exists) would have no idea the car Dodge used for the unseen, undocumented, and no evidence it actually happened 8 second run was a specially prepared car and not one that will ever be produced. You made the claim, back it up.

Better yet, post anything I've said that backs up your belief I'm an EV "slurper" and you arent just a follower spouting nonsense.

Numbers from a manufacturer are like you claiming to have a 10 inch member but you never get to show it as it never grows the full 10 inches.

Not sure what you mean...are you saying slurpers are into measuring ten inch members? Which members exactly...

You are a certified clown, too funny.

For scientific purposes, how old are you? Im guessing ~70?
