sold my 99 corvette
Last month i sold my 99 corvette rebuilt title with cam ,headers, auto stock stahl, 3.15 gears for 8700$ with 95k miles.
I was looking into newer cars and found a 2004 gto 6 speed 127k miles for 8000$ I had bought it everything was going great has a sikky, shifter, slp loudmouth exhaust and k&n cai. The only thing is once i got it home i was installing the headers he gave me to go with the car and seen that one ear on the block with the drivers side dowel was broke and front plate of the transmission had a hole in it so im currently replacing the front transmission plate with tick performance t56 with t56 ls1 adapter bearings. Hopefully will have the car back together in the next few weeks as its rides great, engines strong and shifts great.
Im going to get it running as is and possibly cam it worst case is id have to change ls1 blocks stock bore with everything from mine when i got a chance or bigger ls3 engine pieced together. For now just trying to replace the one transmission plate bolt the transmission back in as it does have a new clutchmax clutch, pilot bearing and slave cylinder looks newer or nut much clutch dust.

Yeah i had switched to a newer vehicle as i seen the gto interior was better or atleast newer then my 99 had 4 seats and was a 6 speed. The parts are a little cheaper depending what youre purchasing. The corvette fiberglass panels tend to deteriorate over time so something like this maybe a better project. The thing i like most is the 6 speed clean title i wouldnt be losing my *** after upgrading it then selling it if i had too. Ac functions and runs drives, shifts like a new car but after seeing those couple issues while doing the header install i figure ill have put together a good ls1 engine to change out 20-30k miles later or whenever. I probably going to put a cam and ud pulley after finishing the headers and try for 400+whp. It has a newer clutchmax clutch upon removal of the transmission whoever put the clutch in mustve not lined the dowels up and drove or impact tightened the bolts down without dowels lined up only thing i can think of. It already had 1500$ in newer parts the slp loudmouth, sikky shifter and k&n cai which are in great condition and i probably would've eventually purchased those parts for the vehicle once i got to it so im about 6500$ into it if it had stock parts and 1500$ in lightly used upgraded parts. Just need to replace the front t56 plate and probably double check his clutch job. Remove bellhousing, clutch see if rear main seal is leaking and reinstall torque everything to spec so i'll know its done right. Pilot bearing looks to have been replaced. CX racing also has a twin turbo kit with everything needed for 3200$ if i had funds id purchase that and a strong clutch.
I really like these cars. Has alot of engine bay room.
Which bushing issue the front radius bar bushings that hold the lower control arms into place? Hopefully ill get that far and swap polyurethane bushings into the front lower control arms as well as front of radius bar. The rear lower control arms already have red polyurethane bushings installed so thats a nice finish.

Had an 05 GTO that I built and modified for almost 8 years.
It was an interesting car and totally reliable.
I just never totally jelled with it.
I don't really miss it.
It was almost like a unicorn.
It never felt right to beat on it.
It was just too nice for me.

Traded my '02 C5 for an '04 MN6 GTO (couldn't pass up the deal; dealer forgave the last 8 months of lease payments). You could definitely feel the weight, but it still moved along pretty well. Better exhaust sound than the stock C5, and some of the most comfortable seats I've ever had. Really solid car.

My only complaint was the paint. Certain areas, like the rear bumper, it was thin.
It rode great, handled pretty well, had usable rear seats even though the electric motors were SLOOOOOW.
Mine was a 2004 QSM 6 speed with black interior. Great car.

IIRC, the only option was sunroof or no sunroof.
I wanted an Impulse Blue Metallic with a 6 speed, but never found one.
I did have two G8s though.

Sunroof was never an option. It's aftermarket dealer installed, not from Pontiac/Holden.

I know there was a short run GM car where that was the only option...at least the first year.
There were only two MSRP's for the car, depending on whether it had that one option or not.

The other option in 05/06 was 17" or 18" wheels.
