Blackwing DD?
Hear me out on this one:
Looking at a 5V Blackwing as a DD. Yes, I'd buy snow tures for the winter, and would steer clear of the Carbon Fiber 1 package with all the splitters/rockers, etc. I'd get the 6-speed of course and the carbon ceramics. Other than that, not sure I want the fancy race seats for a DD.
I commute about 20-25 miles each way to work, and yeah I k ow it would suck on gas but it would be damn fun at least.
Now the big thing for me is long term reliability. I'm sure many will say "look at M5 or E63 because they are faster and awd." My issue is that I plan to keep the car 10+ years. Good luck with an M car or AMG when the warranty expires.
So, for those that have one: is it WORTH IT as a DD?
OR do I pick the LX600 F Sport..
Location: Central Iowa (which has every kind of weather known to man)

Safety Car
I have had mine since June of last year. BW 5, 6 speed. I daily drive mine, and it is the BEST car I have owned to date. I drive 60 miles per day, but leave early in the morning and have zero traffic. Car gets 23-24 mpg @ 70 mph consistently. You will not be disappointed.

I am retired but drive my BW 5 A10 as often as I can. I never miss a chance to have some fun with it (love the V button!) and always average 22-23 mpg. You would have to get some seat time to control the wheel spin because the tires break loose easily at lower speeds.
Take a 4 for a test ride and see how it fits you. Some manual owners consider the 4 a more fun car.
I am at 10 months of ownership and over 3,000 miles. Zero issues with the car so far.

I had them on my '11 Carbon Z06, but it had black wheels, so the dust was not an issue. I chose not to get them on my Bwing, just didn't think it was worth that much money for something that I wouldn't be tracking.

I’ve had a 2011 CTSV M6 coupe for nearly 13 years and 50,000 trouble free miles. While obviously not a Blackwing, it’s about as close as you can get that’s been a long term, one owner car. Mechanically, it’s bone stock, and very similar to the current CT5 Blackwings, complete with mag-ride and supercharged 6.2L Vette engine, though “only” with 550 HP. Mine has always been my daily driver, with the reason for the relatively low miles at that age because we usually take my wife’s car on trips and I’m retired from the commuting issue. Can't give you any advice with winter conditions as I'm in Houston, but we have plenty of rain here, and rain slick streets are no issue beyond not being able to floor it when wet. Thus, basis my experience, I don't see any issues with either daily driving or reliability.

I DD my 23 BW 6spd with CCB's. 7k miles with no issues. The car will spoil you. Power everywhere. No need to downshift to pass on the freeway. It's fun when you do but not needed.
Features that stand out to me.
Auto rev match is fun.
It's quiet when it wants to be.
Drives very smooth with the mag ride. Wife says it's the most stable feeling car she's been in.
Eats miles. Great road trip car. Massaging seats is a nice luxury.
It's the best shifting manual car I have owned. Clutch is butter.
It's a beast in V mode.
For the money, nothing comes close. It is a 4 door corvette. I say this as a C8 owner.
Good luck on a test drive. Waited a year for mine.

Well dealer just got in a Lexus LX600 F Sport that looks great. They have 3 5BW cars on the lot as well. I found the 5BW I want in Michigan. What say you?
I commute to and from work, and live in Iowa which occasionally has this thing called snow/ice/cold. Having 4wd and a vehicle that has a Lexus (RELIABLE, DEPENDABLE) badge is really a big deal, although havinga fun DDnwxt to my ZR-1 (for sale) also has appeal.
