Default cracked rim repair

Does anyone know of a place near Fairfax, VA that does excellent work on welding/fixing a cracked rim? It's not for my Vette but for a mercedes and the dealer wants 4k for a new wheel and installation etc. I'm pretty sure these rims can get welded and fixed. Sorry for posting on this board but having a vette I know we are a community of perfectionists and that's what I'm looking for.

Check out Alloy Wheel Repair. They are a national company and I have used them numerous times over the years for curb rash (not on vette). They are a mobile repair compnay but have factilities in a number of states where they do this type of repair.

There main center is in Kansas City and you woould have to ship. Maybe call them and ask for a reference near you.

Does anyone know if repairing a cracked wheel is safe? It's on the inside of the wheel, goes down the whole lip and about .5 inches inward. So about an inch and a half total crack. I'm really struggling to figure out the best approach. Buying these wheels is really hard. Also aftermarket isn't really in the equation because no one makes this size wheel and I do not want to lower my car nor put spacers on it.
Thanks!

You need to let a wheel specialist look at the wheel. If it’s not safe to repair they will tell you.

Have the wheel evaluated by a professional. In general, a weld can be as safe as the original piece but every situation is different.

hey i am about to buy a used e46 m3 that i was just informed has a bent front rim. The rim is a SSR Comp. They told me that when driving the car that the front shakes a bit because of the bent rim. They told me that they would have get all 4 wheels refinished because the finish would be different but i dont understand why you would refinish a wheel when it is bent. Wouldnt you just get the bend out??????? by the way they want to charge me and extra 1000 to get all the wheels fixed i think this is bullshit. What do you think??????????????? need help asap!!!

Try and look for a new wheel on eBay.

Yes, this is a good example of used car lot BS.

Plenty of used M3s out there. Find one that drives like a BMW, not a beat to death Jeep. Nothing against beat up Jeeps, if that's what you want.

If you live in northern VA with low profile wheels you are going to get bent wheels. It's unfortunate but there are parts of roads out here that absolutely suck. 495 N after Tysons is a perfect example. They're doing all this construction ripping up the highway and creating massive bumps everywhere. At highway speed you'll bend a rim, as I bent 2 already. As for price, 250 per wheel is a reasonable charge. Keep in mind, it may not drive perfectly smooth but will definitely be better. Once a wheel is out of round, it's almost impossible to get it perfect again. I'd say it depends on where you live. If you live in an area with great roads (Far and few these days) then find an M3 with perfect wheels. If not then if you can get a better price on the car go for it. Personally I'd rather get one perfect at the time as it may be masking another issue.

Though seemingly unrelated, wheel repair and Certificate IV in Aged Care both embody crucial aspects of skilled service. Just as wheel repair requires meticulous attention to detail to ensure optimal performance, the Certificate IV in Aged Care course demands a compassionate and attentive approach to meeting the unique needs of elderly individuals. Both fields emphasize the importance of safety and maintaining a smooth and comfortable experience.
