Now that the wife and I are working 100% from home, we got rid of the 2019 Honda Accord Touring we were using to drive 350 miles to a remote worksite. I had a Chevy Colorado ZR2 all picked out when a friend who sells Fords told me to try something on his lot. Now I really like the ZR2, but the new Ford Exploder ST is quite surprising. It tows more, better gas mileage, more horsepower (400hp/415ft-lbs) and tons of tech stuff (heated/cooled/massage seats, heated steering wheel, heated rear captains chairs, etc.) Grabbed one for the wife a couple weeks ago. So far she really likes it even though the Raptor was her favorite. ZFG tune will be here tomorrow which adds ~108hp to a completely stock SUV. I don't want the ice cream to melt on the way home.

I looked at those and the new Telluride. They are both quite nice. I just decided to go with the slightly sportier ST. Just added the tune last night.....and holy c%^$$ is it quick for a 3-row SUV. I feel like I'm not driving a lumbering minivan.

The new explorer is super nice, but I still lament no coyote option.
It's on my list, but it's tow rating holds it back for me. It's like JUST barely enough for my boat and stuff, very little safety margin. I like that it's a bit smaller than Durango, but Durango trounced it in towing and sounds.
How have you found it space wise? We had an explorer sport in my family and it always felt small inside for how huge it was. Also, that turbo v6 sucked.

Last weekend, a completely stock 2020 Explorer ST at National Speed dyno'd the following: 1. Stock tune, 332hp/378ft-lbs 2. 93 tune, 440hp/497ft-lbs 3. E50 tune, 486hp/505ft-lbs. Pretty impressive numbers for just a tune. With drivetrain losses at ~17%, that would put my 93 tune at roughly 530hp at the crank. Not bad.
Space wise is much improved since they made the SUV about 2 inches longer and expanded the distance between the wheels about 7". I find it very roomy.

Not a bad 0-60 time for 5,000+lbs of vehicle/passenger. Brake boosting would probably drop another tenth or two.

I just got a new Explorer police car. Overall it is an ok vehicle. Ours are not turbo or hybrid and honest to goodness it is THE slowest police car I have ever had.
The room is great, ride is good. It is much more comfortable than my Taurus was. I love the extra features over my old car (bluetooth, etc.).
We got the cars in August and out of 12 four of them have already had to go for warranty work. One AC failed, part is on national backorder with no ETA. One had all kinds of electrical stuff pop up-gas gauge quit working, went into limp mode, etc. One had the power windows quit working and another has already needed front axles due to failed CV joints. My front CV joints are clicking at 5000 miles. Time will tell how good they are. The Taurus' only had issues with the front CV joints going bad. Our Chargers were total junk.

Hopefully mine stays trouble-free. My last two Fords were flawless (Raptor and GT). So far, so good.
