Point is, nobody makes a bad car in 2020 anymore.

Point is a 20 year car is still decking everything from old to new ! They don’t make um like they used to and the c5 is prid near the end of them....quality built cars ...engine wise ! For way less $ I’ll smoke your 75-100k sports .....any day of the week ....!

there is ALWAYS someone faster on the street. I’ve known terry almost 20 years and we ran in the same mustang crowd that was filled with 10 second stangs and fox bodies. Terry drives this 8 second monster to work a few days a week, parachute and all.

Mustang or Corvette that's what I ask the wife when we go out, (1991 7up edition gt convertible) I just wish I could figure out how to post pictures. That mustang is one badass looking ride with the top down, but I'll keep them both.

Here's my last 3 cars. I was actually looking to upgrade to a Coyote but it seemed like the colors weren't attractive. When I saw the C5 (which I hadn't really paid any attention to) it grabbed my attention.

Mustangs are fine and some of them are pretty neat. 3 of my close friends have eternal "project" Mustangs. One thing is Scientific Law about Mustangs, no two modifications will work together. My 3 friends have a 1969 fastback, a foxbody and a new edge. All of them get so much wrench time trying to make them good and are extensively modified usually using quality equipment yet they are eternally chasing issues where things don't work properly. All the mods make them impossible to work on so simple things take far longer than they should. It's sad to see them buy something they thought looked cool and then spend years and years and 3-5x the purchase price of the car trying to make them useful only to arrive at something that still doesn't work...

This how my wife sees it corvettes are for people with class and Mustang are well for the opposite...that being said there’s no way a Mustang would ever enter my drive unless of course your driving Eleanor !!!! Just saying The corvette world is much different then the Mustang ...Although Chevy and Ford really common really most people are like what ...But utter the word Corvette people indeed think it’s a whole separate entity and well mustangs are just! found on road dead !!! FORD ...

Prime example the Mustang looks all square and has no style while the C5 has some nice curves and a big booty to match when your backing that azzzz up

I think most non car folks see a nicely kept anything and just see a nice car, not really caring what the car is.
Case in point: I was out for a drive in my torch red c5, and a coupe of kids yell to each other "check out that camaro!"
Did I correct them? No. I asked if the kids wanted to sit in it.

Actual car folks hating on a car because it happens to be from a brand that circles the problem? Eh, whatever.
The best car folks to speak to, in my opinion, don't really care who made the car, they like and appreciate all of em.
I'm a GM guy, obviously, but i can appreciate and like any car from any brand.

When i take the c5 to work I park next to the dude who nice-day daily's his red ragtop c3.

IMHO, smile, wave and engage anyone who has an interest in cars, brand loyalty aside.

No of course not. They are not a sports car so the comparison is not valid.call them a pony car, muscle car, sporty sedan but not a sports car. They are in the same category as a camaro.

I think Mustangs are great cars but my god they're everywhere. It's like a good song that gets overplayed on the radio. I feel like you can't throw a rock in a parking lot without hitting 3 Mustangs. Me and my wife went on a road trip in 2015 when the new body style came out for the Mustangs. By the end of the trip I was already sick of looking at them.

Default In the old west....

In the 'old west' of our common history, if you disparaged another man's woman, you'd most likely get shot. If you stole his horse, you'd certainly get hung from the nearest tree!
I've tried to extrapolate that out into and throughout my adult life, by never 'knowingly' touching another man's woman, nor have I often sought to insult or belittle another's car!
As to Mustangs, long ago I owned a 1966, and a 1968 (convertible), which I loved driving and had lots of fun in! Both, had the 289 V8 and were a hoot to drive (I thought back then), and looked 'nearly identical' (same colors, etc) to the stock photos below. The guy who bought my 68 vert from me, paid me more money than I had paid for it, by a rather large amount. I'm certain 'that' was the only car I've owned (among the many), that I actually 'made money on'! Ah.........great memories...!

Each to his own....
Don

Do Mustangs have fake brake caliper covers to make their brakes look better?
