My brand new, factory stock Mustang ran 11.3 at 127 MPH with a 2.2 60' time last weekend. No it's not a Mustang GT, but it's a Mustang. I get more compliments in this car than any of my Vette's.
So no. I don't feel sorry for Mustangs.

Performance is nice, but in an age where Kia and Hyundai are churning out performance there's other things that factor in to perceptions and attitudes. We all know cool owners of Mustangs...I have friends with Bullitts, GTs, etc. But the overwhelming majority of Mustang owners I've encountered in traffic come across as insecure with something to prove. Whether in my LC500, Grand Sport, or the SRTs I could always count on the rogue Mustang to carve its way through traffic to come teach me a lesson. It could be below freezing and they'd have their window rolled down to better hear their aftermarket exhaust. That's the perception you're up against.

Interesting, what exactly is the version you have that can run that time and speed?

If it's stock I would be betting it's a new GT500. The traction is very limited. Once it hooks it's gone.

Well, its a GT500. GT, GT350. They are all somewhat quick. Traction is a biggie, even with launch cintrol.
GT500 more than likely.

Definitely a GT500. My GT350 is not pulling those 0-60 times lol.

Yeah, well that ain't me. I'm the guy that backs off from jerkoffs because they're jerkoffs. I had my 9 year old daughter in my car on the way home from the drags and had 2, 600cc sport bikes challenge me and I laughed at them and told them to be on their way. I'm almost 50 years old and have no time for bullshit. If you want to talk being embarrasses in a Mustang, I'm not the guy you're looking for.

I quoted my 60 foot times because they sucked so bad but the car still ran 11.3...That was not a 0 to 60 time.

..and as a second note...The ONLY Corvette ever made I'd be concerned with is a 2019 ZR1. I had a '17 Z06/ Z07 for 3 years and this Mustang would eat it's lunch and kick it's *** in dodge ball.

I get what you mean, but I’d say only for those who don’t get the V8 or a manual transmission. I own a 1970 Mustang and a 1972 Corvette, and I love both of them.
