TBSS vs 6.2
Hey guys looking at getting a family car to join the C5Z. Contemplating on the TBSS or a 6.2, RWD (really would like the RWD for burnouts with the family in the car lol) Anybody have experience with both or prefer the other? I know the 6.2 would have a nicer interior and the 6 speed trans(year pending) and be a little newer. I know the 6.2 would be at a bit higher of a price. Just looking to get some additional thoughts/comments on this. Thanks!

don't have a TBSS, but have a silverado SS with the 6.0 and my dad has a silverado with a 6.2
hands down I'd take the 6.2 any day.
plus any SUV with the 6.2 is going to be much new, much nicer interior, and much bigger than the TBSS

I'd go with the 6.2 but pick a year with the 6-speed transmission. The 8-speed has been problematic in multiple vehicles from Corvette to Escalade and everything in between.

Are you looking for a 6.2 Yukon vs a TBSS? Two very different vehicles. One is a giant family hauler with a big engine. The other is an enormous land yacht with a slightly larger engine.
I kid, but they really drive totally different. TBSS feels a LOT faster and more nimble due to being WAY smaller and lighter. It's definitely not as nice inside, but you can get most of the nice features. TBSS is one of those cars that will be a future collector IMO, and they hardly go down in price. It bils down to what you want to drive, something sporty or something comfy, and if you want a truck with a 6.2 or an SUV.
Personally, I wanted a TBSS, but ended up with a Colorado with a 5.3 instead because I didn't want to run premium in a daily. My best friend has a Silverado SS and it's no faster than my 5.3 because it's gigantic and hella heavy compared to it. It's a bit nicer and more spacious than my truck for sure, but my truck is almost fun to drive. His truck sucks to drive, so big and floaty. Just my opinion though.
If you're willing to spend more money, a Jeep SRT8 might be an option too, they're a little bigger, and a little nicer than the TBSS. But a whole bunch more money.

I have a 2015 Yukon Denali with the 8 speed trans. I had the TSB fluid change done for the converter shudder and it solved the issue. It's surprisingly quick for a full size SUV. I've read a couple tests that show bottom 14 second 1/4 times with trap speeds at 99mph...... this is pretty much inline with what the TBSS would do. For a big vehicle, the magnetic ride does a pretty nice job of making it handle decent but as Fauee mentioned...... The TBSS is going to be the vehicle that's more fun to drive. The TBSS was at the tail end of the really cheap interior quality for GM, it's loaded with tons of hard plastic surfaces and they are rattle/noise prone. I would suggest spending some time behind the wheel of both and see what you like.

thanks for the feedback fellas. I def need to drive a TBSS. Mom has a 18 suburban 5.3 an it rides amazing. My 2011 Sierra 1500 had the 6.2 so I have somewhat of an idea on the ride/power. Never been behind the wheel of a TBSS.
