Took a detour to my C8 ownership....

I always get a solid laugh from the blinder wearing simpletons......LOL!!!!! That is an awesome car and I'm sure you're loving the driving experience. Some people can't get past the "on paper" HP numbers and 0-60 times. There is something about a real "driver's" car that many can't and will never understand. The Cayman is such a well balanced car that delivers an amazing experience, many can't get past the HP/TQ numbers to consider one at the price point. I think the C8 base model is impressive and I'm quite excited for the Z06/ZR-1 versions based on the current leaked information. With such a major change to the corvette model, I wouldn't even want to consider an early version example. While I can appreciate some want to be the first in line when a certain car comes out and pay MSRP or even over that amount....... I'm one of those people who would rather let the bugs get worked out and buy a couple model years into the generation.

Not sure why the cat and mouse on the pricing. With your announcement of the "amazing deal ya negotiated and got" -- it's not like the folks on this forum will want to buy it from you in 2 years and remember your "killer deal" -- they'll be mostly driving and enjoying their wicked fast and great handling C8's. If it was a great deal you paid about $40K, if so, congrats.

I seriously considered the Cayman in late 16 when I got my Z06, but given the Z discounts available Sept of 16 I couild buy a Z (paid $90 k for a $106k MSRP car) for about $8k less than the Cayman ($97 k for the options I wanted). Not that it isn't a great car, but I just decided to go the Corvette route again.

I never could understand Porsche. They just don’t look good to me. They look boring yet they have a great following.
I also don’ Know why we have to constantly read posts about them and have to look at pics of their unimpressive design.
Do many Corvette enthusiasts go on the Porsche web site and post similar threads? How many posts are there by guys who say they really wanted a Porsche but they just couldn’t get past the ugly so they ordered a Corvette?
