I don't see why someone would buy a Porsche over a Vette. For the last 17 years or most Vette's beat most Porsche's on h.p. Handling would be equal.

I'm not an expert on either car. But when I compare the two, including price, it's seems Vettes win.

I'd drive one but wouldn't want to get my doors blown off by Vettes.

So, FOR THE MONEY, Porsche is a better car than a Vette?

That is totally subjective. To make such an assessment w/o even driving 1, is quite ridiculous, wouldn't you say. Corvettes aren't the "end all " sports car.

Corvettes aren't the end all of sports care. There are Ferraris, Mazaratis, etc. But, it seems that for $80,000 you get more for your money with a Vette.

If by more, you mean:

Paint runs, chipped paint on my panels from poor gap tolerances and panel molds, badly wrinkled seats from the factory, cheap materials (that look good on the outside, though), poor interior and exterior overall build quality, a rushed to market poorly performing A8, overheating, overhead light buttons that flap in the wind they are so loose...

I could go on, but you get the point.

Don't get me wrong, its still the best bang for buck there is out there and why i love it... But don't compare it equally with a P-car and just look at price versus performance.

I concur on some of the cheap interior items. But, I haven's seen any of the others things.

Personally having driven a newer boxster and a C7 Z06 I would never pick a Porsche over a Corvette at any price point. Maybe if I had to pick between a base C7 (which I haven't driven) and an optioned out to the max Boxster, I would pick a Boxster. But you're talking 30k price difference at that point. I don't like the weight behind me, and I like my V8s!
I don't mind crappier interior materials or whatever, as long as my elbows rest on a softer surface and the seat is comfortable, I'm 90% satisfied with an interior. But thats just me..

I posed the Porsche vs. Vette question to a C7 guy I know. He said his son had a Porsche but not for long. One reason was they're more technical and expensive to repair than Vettes. Like you ramm I can't see it. For my money I want the h.p.

Ramm, if you like the weight in front of you won't be buying a C8 Vette.

How old are you? I'm guessing 14? If you ever get to drive either car, you'll notice the difference and why each is priced where it is.

sublime: apparently others think as I do. We're just ignorant I guess. No taste in cars.
