Well I think it will be spending 99.9% of it's time terrorizing the streets or the drag strip......
Sorry but I think the CTS-V(a fast sedan) is going to get dragged around in those areas for 2 reasons
1) I don't think the CTSV is faster than a C7 Z06
2) The Hellcat Charger is faster than the Challenger version.
I don't really expect a rational response from you on this...but regardless the writing is on the wall.

An 18 year old driving a brand new TA back in the late 70s? That is very impressive.
This topic was not started to discuss MPG, AWD, or "Lexus like" interiors, sound insulation, and reliability. The Hellcat is a ***** to the wall car, a man's car. The car is not for everyone, some people would be more comfortable in a Hybrid Lexus SUV, a Miata, an S2000, or a Prius.

2 camps in here: Those that know cars, and those that think they know cars (know nothing).
Some of the comments here are ludicrous. This is a family cruiser, drag strip car and roll race car straight out of the dealer.
Road course and anything else in stock form won't be its strength.

Well the Tesla tops out at a whopping 155mph. No not many people race from a dig... more along the lines of roll racing down the freeway. The Tesla will run around 100K where as the Charger Hellcat is $65,000. I also wont need a charging station with a Hellcat nor will I have electric bills that are through the roof. I don't understand why people have to hate on other cars. We are lucky to have so many high performance cars to choose from.

No.
The Tesla Model S P85D - the fastest one everyone is talking about - starts at $105,670. The Charger Hellcat will MSRP at about $65k.
The Hellcat twins will beat or edge out every previous version - 3.9s P85+, 5.5s for the Model S 60...the one that starts at $71k.

Uh, no. Both cars list at $70k. And as I mentioned, the equivalent gas mileage of the new Tesla is 85 MPG. That's at least 6.5 times more efficient than the Charger. So for about the same initial cost, you get your cake and eat it, too. It is a win-win for the Tesla and its owner for years to come.

Dealerships all over the country are selling Hellcats at MSRP. You would know this if you knew anything about them, but you have made it quite obvious you dont. You remind me of PeterK. Always quick to throw in some "facts" which are almost always wrong.

When you see a Hellcat Charger on the streets and one wants to play......have the nearest road course pre programed into your GPS and ask him/her to follow you there.......
That will increase your chances of winning assuming you know how to drive

Appears that the Teslow p85d only runs a 11.8 1/4 mile? That is barely fast enough to beat a stock 2001 C5 z06 on drag tires. I'd get a Hellokitty car, it'd be fun to drive. But would go on a diet as soon as I got it home. Can the Teslow drive 100 miles to a track, make drag runs all day, and then drive home without charging? And then maybe roll race a bike on the highway on the way home? Even better, I drove my 80's V6 Buick 800 miles each way on day 1 and 5, then for 3 days in between, ran mid tens racing. Electric performance isn't ready for primetime yet.
