Germans just don't have as many cars as we do, their Porsches are daily drive cars. I arrived in Germany in March and was stunned that all the nice cars had ugly wheels, then I learned that was their snow tire wheels.

And if those trucks bring in spectators and sponsorship money, how is that ridiculous?

Maserati Winter Tour

"Maserati's tire partner, Pirelli, has developed their Sottozero tires to be effective in temperatures approaching freezing and below giving your Maserati a tight grip on the road in the colder temperatures of the winter months. The asymmetrical tread pattern provides excellent traction on light snow and ice helping allow you to drive through wintry weather in confidence and comfort."

Driving in snow is clearly of interest to not only those who drive non-premium brand trucks/SUVs with at least 12" of clearance.

From FChat:
Unfortunately just before our first storm here in CT I blew a rod on the bimmer. Was using the 308 as a daily driver throughout this crazy winter. Never let me down

A rainy day spells trouble for this AWD 911:

....the wrong vehicle for wet weather, I guess.

A few weeks ago my daughter and I entered a time trial at Lime rock park in the snow. That's her AWD FX35 going around the course.

And look at this, fastest car on the course. Yes this is New England, where no one should be driving a Porsche in the winter.

Race cars racing does not validate your point, you have to be smarter than that; but here's another nail in your coffin.

It is all about tires. In the winter, my 911TT is hopeless with summer tires and unstoppable with blizzarks on the cheapest 17 inch rims.

No, I wished. I'm confined to sports cars with 4 seats until my kids move out of the house, which will be in about 12 years.
