Default Help: what model truck is this that bashed my mailbox?

Can anyone tell what make / model / year range this truck is?

It's terrible low-res footage, but it's all I have. Thanks in advance for any help

Based on the quality of the video, it would be tough to say for certain, but it looks like a late 90's to current GM (Silverado or Sierra) extended cab.

Looks like a clean 4x2 you must not live in the snow belt area.

I'm in northern Utah, so 4x2s are a pretty rare sight.

I'm not super worried about it since it's the first time in 5 years, and I'm not going to pretend I never did stupid stuff as a teenager...
BUT when something breaks, what do we do? Upgrade!

My buddy just went through the same thing... and he had just moved. He thought a neighbor didn't like him because he moved from North NJ to Murray, UT

Looks like an extended cab chevy to me like the others said.

Try building a stronger mailbox. In some states its illegal, but if you reinforce your mailbox with concrete and rebar the little punks won't do something that stupid again.

Murray's just up the road from me ... maybe it was the same kids!

Ha! I seriously thought about that. Not worried about legality so much as turning the prankster kids into an angry revenge-seeking mob. They know where I live, after all...

...so they can do anything they want - kinda like Capone's gang in Chicago during prohibition?

I think having both a higher resolution video camera and an immovable mail box will be all you'll need.

Does not sound as if you care to much for people who ride on two wheels.......... things like accidents do happen

Unmovable structures next to the road should be illegal the same as mowing grass with the clippings being thrown unto the road surface.

I actually have one of those now. Our mailbox got hit by cars a lot and the weird thing is we are on a straight road. After installing this mail box we still get hit some but there are car parts left when they do and the mailbox survives.

Easy way to fix that problem is to not hit stuff on the side of the road. And/or get more wheels and traction :P

But seriously, if you're driving/riding to the point that you hit a mailbox, you've done things wrong leading you to that point. Mailboxes go in neighborhoods, which have low speed limits, and so you're not going to dynamically exceed the capacities of your vehicle in them unless you're already breaking the law speeding.

IMO, people riding motorcycles need to be aware that every time they go for a ride on it, there's a significantly larger chance that they won't be returning than if they were in a car. If they're good with that, then good for them, my friends who ride bikes all love theirs. But I don't think we need to change how things are done because THEY CHOOSE to ride motorcycles. If they're worried about hitting an immovable object on the side of the road on their bike, worried about grass clippings in the road, upset about reflectors on the road, etc. then they can choose to do something about it by not riding a motorcycle. It's all a personal choice.
