1970 ss ls6
Well, we finally fixed some of the outstanding items on our 1970 SS LS6 build - some minor items, and one not so minor item. The car has the correct battery now, and a restored original dash. Some of the little things were fixing a leak, a rattle, aligning a stubborn passenger window, among a few other things. This thing took almost 6 years to build - we'll never do this again.
Enjoying the car now - amazing how many looks this gets on the street and at shows, and how many people who know what this car actually is.
-Michael.

Super nice!! Love those GM A's.
Juiceman's 68 was a real nice car also. We wanted that car , but the timing wasn't quite right.

Nice! Is the air cleaner missing a lid? I 68 C3 had a factory open element air cleaner and all the hot engine bay air congregated there. Your snorkle at least moves the point of entry a bit further away from the hot spot.

The main difference, is the Inland shifter is bolted to the crossmember, in a misguided effort to reduce vibration in the interior, while the Hurst is bolted directly to the tranny tail housing. When the engine "torques over", in reaction to application of throttle, the Inland shifter binds up, since it's attached to the crossmember. The Hurst moves with the engine, and doesn't bind....

To me, it looks like a Hurst. If it indeed is, it definitely was not OE. My SS came with an "Inland" shifter, and a Hurst went in shortly after I bought the car.
