Default The C7 that GM should have built, to have really ROCKED the autmotive world big time!

This is not a hater thread, I think GM did a great job with the new C7, except for the rear end which does not match the rest of the car and looks cheap, boxy, and overall like crap (the rear end). Otherwise, the C7 is going to be an incredible machine and will no doubt do very well in sales.

That being said, here is a common image of the C7 concept car shown here for months, and if they would have taken a LEAP of faith, this car would have turned the automotive world upside down, and would have DESTROYED all competition, if coupled with a base LTI powerplant making no less than 550 ponies and 500 ft lbs of torque, and a sticker price of $60K (tops).

This C7 would have been a Slam Dunk, Grand Slam, in my humble opinion. Just wish GM would have the ***** to build this concept car and just ROCK the automotive industry once and for all, and been TOP DOG again, making Viper lick its wounds!

Now how is that for a rear end!!! Forget the lambo doors, but keep everything else, this would have been the ultimate American Sportscar, that would have all the competition very worried for good cause!

If any of you techno guys can convert my link to pictures in this thread that would be great and much appreciated.

Sorry Jimmy. I have to respectfully disagree. That car looks way too cartoonish.

+1 ... the current C7 is much more exotic and "real" looking. I love it. I agree the rear isn't perfect.. but rest of the car makes up for it. Too bad they didn't go lower with the black rear, and quad exhaust 2 tips on each side of bottom... like the Ferrari 458 or F12... would of been better

I absolutely agree with you! While I didn't expect the finished product to be exactly like this concept, I hoped it would be similar. People were wild about it. With the curved wheel wells, split rear window & other styling cues, it was much more deserving of the Stingray badge.

If they would have blended this concept with real world design more, I think you would've had a better car.

I remember when everyone seemed to think that the Stingray Concept WAS going to be the next Vette just because it was in Transformers. Lol... that thing is horrible and it never had a shot.

They hope you think that too! This is just the base model and the next models like the C6 ZO6 and ZR1 had more power. Would have been poor marketing to put out the best first then try to come in with lower powered less expensive models later.

And for a base price of 53K for all that car, yes rocks the world.

1000%. The C7 looks great until you see the rear end which looks like complete chit to me, and ruins the entire design of the car. Not to mention the first year C7 is underpowered (at less than 500HP) and overweight.
