I'm very interested in the upcoming mustang with evos styling that makes this similar to the svelte Aston Martin....

I am a car enthusiast and not stuck on one brand, although I’ve owned mostly Mustangs (from model years 66, 67, 85, 86, 88, 89, 90, 92, 94, 99, 2003 and now 2011), Camaros & Trans Ams(94, 96 WS6, 99ss, 2010) and Corvettes (65, 73, 87, 88, 89, 90, 92, 96 and now 2007). Each satisfied something different and each had their drawbacks/flaws, especially the older ones. The one thing I’ve come to realize both GM and Ford now build fantastic cars and I do not want to limit myself to only one car model now that I can afford it at this stage in my life.
Life is too short…just pick what you like and drive it like you stole it! No need to bash others for their choices if they don’t drive what you like. Let’s not forget…it was the Mustang that sparked the Pony Car wars; Corvette should never be lumped into those wars, different car with a different mission. Just like the original Mustang caused GM to build the Camaro, the 2005 Mustang caused it to bring back the Camaro in 2010, not to mention Chrysler’s Challenger!

This is the only site I see on the net that is so threatened by other great performing cars, funny thing is, most of the people who are threatened are the Zaino, Starbucks crowd, who take road and track as gospel

You got that right. The ignorance in this thread is staggering. No one here has said anything bad about the Corvette...yet you guys try to put down anything that is comparable. I've said this before and I'll say it again. I've been to Corvette track rentals. Are there are A LOT of cars out there that would tear up some of you guys driving your Z06's and ZR1's. A LOT! Hell, my wife's S4 would give some of you so-called "experts" a run for your money...with her driving it.

In the HISTORY of production cars, a MUSTANG will never be as advanced, or more agressive than a Corvette.
In high school, I had a '68 Mustang Coupe w/a 351 Cleavland in it. The engine was so damn stong, it eventually ripped into the frame, and the car was useless at the end of the year.
On top of that, I had GRADUATED to a 1969 Z28 (although it did NOT have the DZ302 engine in it, it DID have a modified 350 w/ Corvette camel-hump heads on it, and a Munci Rock-Crusher 5-speed manual transmission...
My point?
I don't think FORD will EVER come out with a Corvette Killer. NOPE, I just DON'T. I've seen some great cars in my time, but a MUSTANG that kills a CORVETTE? Has anyone here forgotten what a Corvette can do IN A CORNER?
FORGET IT FELLA, and just enjoy whatever it is you drive.
Nothing to see here folks, nope, not a thing.

corners? Not me
This old 99 has squashed many higher HP cars at track days. Many, many!
