Holy ****.

Were the 2010 blocks aluminum or iron?

2010 blocks were still iron.

Why do the big ends of these connecting rods look horribly rusted? Was the car sitting for a while before they tore it down?

Maybe high temp corrosion. I suspect bearing failure may have caused those rods to glow and baked off the oil. Motor has been sitting on the engine stand for a couple of months. It's not my motor and I haven't seen it in person, so I am only speculating.

Nothing a couple tubes of JB Weld could not fix.

Wow, your friend did it right. When he blew it up, he really blew it up.

Looks like a bomb went off in there. I never seen one that looked that bad.

There is probably very little to feel bad for.

He boosted it within an inch of its life and probably had the time of his life with it. Something tell me he has the wealth and means to build it better, stronger, and faster.

Welcome to racing ! That's a bad bang could be several reasons you might
find why or you may not ever find out either. Could be a simple part that has given way under high RPM or leaned the bejesus out of the motor. Good luck with the new donk ! Stewy
