Default Cts-v

Well I've spent the last 7 or 8 years reading corvette forum and sharing a little but just sold my 08 for a Caddy CTS-V and so far am loving it. Maybe there is a C7 in my future but for now the Caddy is a very nice and fun car to drive. Quieter, smoother, I think faster, but doesn't have the Vette sex appeal! We shall see what the C7 holds for us all. Thanks for the good reading!!!

Most cars are quieter than the C6, and many are smoother. A Caddy better danged well be both!

I'm hoping the C7 suits pay a bit more attention to reducing wind, road and chassis noise. Like your Caddy, sort of. Although most sports car drivers will accept a noisy car, a bit more attention to this issue is warranted, I believe. I know, cost and weight.

I have been very impressed with mine so far. Nice ride with creature comforts that will post an 11.86 quarter time

I have 2010 CTS-V Sedan and an 2007 Convertible, I love them both! The V is a bit faster than the Vette, but the Vette handles a lot better on the twisty roads.

I took my Mom out to dinner today in the V and she asked me which car I liked best. I told her I loved them both and they are different cars and I didn't like one better than the other. The V is nice an comfy, but the Vette is a true sports car and its a Convertible!! I hope the C7 has heated and cooled Recaros, they really rock!!

Made a similar shift myself almost 2 years and 20000 miles ago, to a CTSV coupe after 20 years and 200000 miles in Vettes. I continue to think it was the right move for me, for reasons similar to the other posts. As I weigh the tradeoffs, the very slight giveaway in agility/cornering, and the slightly bigger but still modest giveaways in mileage and sex appeal are very minor in comparison to the huge improvements in comfort, quiet, and interior quality. The C7 will have to make dramatic improvements in those areas to lure me back. Meanwhile, hope you continue to enjoy yours as much as I’ve enjoyed mine.

Got a chance to put a few more miles on it today and feeling pretty good about the trade. The power feels very smooth no matter what throttle I give it. Pushed it hard from 0 to around 70 and it will sit you back in the seat! Starting to get the feel of the recaro's to. Can't find the same enthusiasm on the Caddy forums as here so maybe I will have to visit more often than I thought. Lovin the V so far...

The smooth throttle response of these cars are amazing!! When I first took my V down the dragstrip I was amazed!! I couldn't believe that a 4-door sedan could perform so well!! That same day I let my friend take the car down the track as well...he sold his vette the following weekend and purchased a V!! You made a great choice IMO!!

I'm fortunate enough to have just picked up a '12 CTS-V sedan in Diamond White about a month ago and I was able to keep my '10 ZR1. The V is the DD and the ZR1 is the weekend fun car, but if I have to take the V out on the weekend, I don't mind at all. It's a blast to drive and more comfy in the day to day slog.

@ OP- I consider the caddy a nice filler until I decide on my next go-fast car.

The wheels may not float everybody's boat, but I'm not here to impress anybody but myself. I ordered the wheels custom made by Forgeline with centerlocks.....great strong and light wheel design that I stole from a Ferrari using them @ the Rolex 24 hour race. The wheels are actually race gold and not as bright as the photographer processed them at.

Saw them on this car:

And added a few custom tweaks (exposed fasteners, polished/clear coated lips and centerlock)-

Because I have a 3 year old, and can't guarantee that my current job will continue to afford me a company car, I have been thinking about trying to trade my 20k mile 08 Z06 for a 09-10 CTS-V Sedan.

Is the interior a real leap forward vs the vette?

How stiff is the ride?

I consider my V's interior is leaps and bounds ahead of my '08 Z I sold for the V. I had a 2LZ also. I test drove a lot of sedan V's, but once I saw the wagon, I fell in love!

And the ride, is so, so much nicer than my '08 Z.
