Picked up an '06 Wrangler Unlimited
6 speed, 28,000 miles, some small mods
Here's a poser driveway shot:
I have more pictures here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/royelra...7629561646024/
So far it's been fun to drive. I haven't figured out exactly how tall the lift is, but those are 33" tires on it. The condition of the vehicle seems to be really, really good. Interior looks brand new. Body looks like it's been maintained well. Some mud underneath (to be expected), but no leaks whatsoever.
I'm still trying to figure everything out. I've always wanted a jeep and I figured while I wait for the C7, I'll get one for a year or so and see if I actually like it. The PO never changed the speedometer gear, so it's hard for me to get a feel for what kind of MPG I'm getting. So far it looks like I'm getting 10mpg. I have a new gear on the way so as soon as that's installed, I'll get a better feel for it. I want to learn about all the different lifts and make sure this one was done right. I've heard that an excessive body lift is useless and if anything, dangerous. If anyone can give me any tips on what to look for I'd appreciate it.
There's a custom exhaust on here. It has a nice low rumble to it which I like.
Anyway, now it's time to find some trails around here that I can toy with. We like to go camping/kayaking, so this'll definitely come in handy for that.
I will say that compared to the vette, this one is a lot easier to get under and work on :]

Well let me put that figure in perspective for you. I got 9.7 MPG city, 17 MPG HWY with my 2005 Dodge Ram SRT10 (5400lbs with a 505HP 8.4 liter V10!!!!)
Something is definitely wrong.

Congrats! Wranglers are a blast!
I just purchased a 2012 Wrangler unlimited (4DR Auto) as a DD and to begin my off-road hobby. Honestly, the QC is questionable but dont have 2K miles on it, I guess we will see. I have ordered ~ 6K worth of mods to be installed in 2-3 weeks. It is a blast to drive but certainly isnt built for speed............in now understand "its a Jeep thing". Moving to Arizona within 12 months and looking forward to running the trails .
