Juke as winter/snow DD?
(Hope this topic is OK for this forum.) Do any of you have a Nissan Juke as a winter/snow daily driver, and what has your experience been? I'm planning to garage my Vette for the Chicago-area winter (early Nov. until ~April 1). The Juke SL with AWD seems to have the best combo of power, handling, fun, features, looks and reasonable price. (And I'm already used to having a car that doesn't have a ton of cargo space!)

Safety Car
I have a one, few things to consider:
The MPG observed is no where near what Nissan advertises it, but not a deal breaker for me. The "wine rack" looking front splitter is way too open exposing condenser to damage from road debris. If you're used to an arm rest, the Juke does not have one for your right arm. Can't lift the wipers when washing as they're obstructed by the hood. Nit picking of course as I do like the car overall. It is a good bang for your buck, with Nav, backup camera, iPod -USB connector, and leather everyhwhere I came out of the dealership under $23K, not bad at all, also to me it looks like someone took an SUV, shrunk it and injected it with illegal steroid. and good luck

Leasing or buying?
If your leasing the best deal out there right now for winter vehicles...is 309 a month for an awd 250 hp Honda pilot...600 down.. 12k a year..
I'd recomend that for 36 months..
For 239 a month... 600 down..you can get a Honda CRV 12k miles per year 3 years..
My personal favorite lease right now is 625 down... 279 a month... VW CC with heated leather seats...dual clutch automatic 200 hp turbo 4....10k a year but as long as you make your decision before the 29th month of the lease...you can increase allowable mileage at 18 cents per mile...if need be..
Dam nice winter beater...for around 3300 a year cost..
No maintaince either as VW is offering free maintaince in the term of the lease..

Back in March I bought my wife a Juke SL AWD in Electric Blue and she loves it. Lots of space up front, but the hatch area is very small. The build quality seems to be good. She is averaging 23 MPG in the city and about 33 on the highway. She is not using ECO mode. Very nice little car, but it is not something I would want to use as my daily driver.

Newsflash: The Juke has not been a model of reliability, according to owners who fill in a CR survey every year. Mazda is coming out with a CX-5 that will leapfrog most others in this class. See:

CR said it so it MUST be true. After all, they are the bible!
Mine has been trouble free. So has my 4-yr old Dodge SUV, a car they claim should have fallen apart as soon as it left the dealer lot.

My neighbors have had nothing but trouble with their Jeep commander but then again, it comes as no surprise since CR shows that vehicle as having much worse than average reliability. And my C5? ...the same thing. CR's ratings hit the nail on the head - drivetrain is good, electronics - very bad.
If you have 4 years of no trouble with a Dodge, count your blessings!
