Sold the GS
Bought it a year ago from MacMulkin and enjoyed every minute of it. It was my first "domestic" and what a ride indeed.
But with all kinds of rumors about the C7 I'm thinking it's time to kick back and save some bucks to get one a year or two after they are out. There should be big improvements in practically every area of the car (I hope).
In any case there is a car I've been wanting to try for a while and finally the opportunity came around and I grabbed it. I wanted a car that handled tighter, revved higher, cost less, had warranty, and was a true droptop. Behold the ///M roadster:
I'll be back fellas

Congrats on your new ride. Sure you'll have revs, but yes you'll be back soon craving the effortless torque and HP you gave up with the LSV8 mill.
The C7 fantasia will not begin for a couple years and wont be in full swing until beyond that. What I find exciting about that is the re-newed enthusiasm that comes with it each time a new gen is launched. See you then.

The car I owned before buying my 2005 C6 was a Z4. That replaced my old Z3, a car which I really loved.
The M version of the Z4 is a fine car, but it still suffers from the poor electric steering that plagues the standard Z4. I also found the ride really jarring over rough roads; so much so that I had to avoid certain routes. It made the ride on my Z51 feel almost plush.
I think the MZ4 will be fun for a while, but I have no doubt that another Corvette, C6 or C7, will push it out of your garage sooner than you think.

OP-
I've had the BMW Z Coupe and enjoyed the car very much, it's a different animal for sure. It really was a fantastic car, and what magnificent engineering. It was very fun to own and had some great drives in it. Believe it or not, I've had more waves, thumbs up and looks in the Z Coupe than my C6. But, like me, I think you'll eagerly come back to a Vette. I think it will be a long wait till the C7 comes out. Once you have all that torque you become annoyed when you drive something that doesn't have it. Like I said, my Z was a lot of fun, but I literally said to myself "I'll never stray again" when I drove my GS home.
HHmmm, not sure how you think doing this will save you money though, seems like you'll be losing money overall on this swap, but who cares about the math... Anyway, best of luck with the car! It's a nice one, love the color combo! post more pics if you can!
