That is it! We all assumed OP was a guy and people were hammering him for buying an obvious "chick" car, but in reality OP is a girl! Then I say..........................this car is ideal for you, a nice feminine unassuming, somewhat ugly car that will not attract looks, so you can cruise and enjoy the open air in somewhat anonymity. Congrats.

Seriously, someone that posts on a Corvette Forum with the name Importluva and say you traded your Corvette for some Barbie convertible and don't expect to get any $hit.

I am sorry but let me speak from experience as I had an M roadster for 2 years (super cheap employee lease). The car fells more solid inside and out, brakes, steers and "feels like" it handles better. It is the purest performance car BMW made, only comes in a 6 speed stick with hydraulic steering rack(not electric like other Z4's). Not SMG trans like other BMW M cars. Same engine as E46 M3 but 200 lbs lighter, and the coupe version was the same weight.
Now, what the car seriously lacks is torque, and they make up for with super short gear/axle ratios, I only got 23 mpg max on the highway, although the engine revved awesome. I hope you have extended warranty and keep in mind it won't cover everything. Also remember every 20k miles or so you have adjust the valves which is a thousand dollar service at most dealers.
I miss it sometimes, but the great looks of the vette and awesome power/sound do not compare to the M roadster, leasing the BMW was OK but I would never own one. Also the gas mileage is better in the vette, but not what I expected. All Z4's have lower resale value than other bimmers, due to lack of demand and being impractical. The trunk is even smaller than other Z4's due to dual exhaust they had to put battery IN the trunk, another negative!

Wow what a tough crowd. You guys should really re think some of the things you say. Instead of insulting people just for no apparent reason. Op made a change big deal wish him good luck with his decision and move on. Calling him a homo and sh*t like that is completely uncalled for. To the OP enjoy your new ride and when your ready get back in a Vette where you belong.
totally disagree...what do you think the OP expected to hear? im sure he is laughing at all the comments like i have been. At the end of the day its his car, his decision....but coming into a corvette forum and posting that he traded his GS for any car one would expect to get lit up. If he didnt expect the criticism then he deserves it even more for being naive.

To the rest of you, i think this sucker can keep up in the mountain passes. Its incredible how nimble it is and most importantly it doesn't get upset as easily over bumps. The GS (and i assume lesser vettes) does have a handling weakness especially with bumps mid-corner. I considered suspension or at least tire upgrades but never got around to it.
I know its tough for many of you to understand why i made the change but so far no regrets on my end.

I just don't see why ? Why not drive the grand sport until it was time to get the C7 ?
To each his own but that is a total chick car . I really hate those cars and would never trade any vette for one of those but it's your money and your life . Good luck .

More money for the Reich! Ha ha. J/K.
I was born there and will never buy German cars. I grew up in the US and will continue to keep my options limited to US built cars. I'm just that way I guess...

I think it all comes down to passion. Some people dabble in different cars with no real passion or loyalty. I don't care how much money I ever have a Corvette will always be in my possession if possible. Would I add a Ferrari or some other exotic, yes but I would never give up my love for the Corvette. I guess I am just one hardcore Corvette loving SOB and that will never change.
