Default Boss 302 or C6

I currently own a '07 C6 with the Z51. I do spend a bit of time at the track with it and really enjoy it. I am however interested in the new Boss 302 with the n/a high revin 302. Of course, it will be tracked as well.

I do understand that I will probably be flamed by some for thinking of changing to a different car, but that is ok. I am not brand specific as I own several kinds of brands and I just love cars.

Boss 302 is a monster for sure, but then again it is a mustang also it might be more cost effective to race a mustang over the vette.

Whatever floats your boat... it's your money. You can always come back to a vette if you don't like the stang.

I sure as hell wouldn't do it... but

Good luck with whatever you decide.

The fact that your even considering this change tells me your mind is made up.

I'm sure you'll be happy with your decision.

Not to flame you but you must not be a TRUE CORVETTE guy or you would not ever think of going from a corvette to a mustang unless it was for a financial reason. As long as I can afford a CORVETTE that wil be my only SECOND car in the family I will ever own! CORVETTE #1.

I have a 2008 Shelby GT and a 2007 Z51. The Shelby has handed me my *** on several occasions. The back end lets go and suddenly you are backwards. My Shelby is lowered below a standard Mustang. I can't speak for the 302 but I will say on a curvy track, the Vette will spank my Shelby.

One thing to consider is that the Boss 302 will be a relatively low production car. Just like when the Shelby GT500 came out, you had to pay about $10k OVER sticker to get one. I imagine it will be the same way with the Boss 302.....but I could be wrong. On the other hand, they're practically giving new Vettes away.

If it was me though, I'd buy a used Z06 before I bought a new Mustang.....for about the same money.

I'd go drive a Boss 302 before you made any assumptions.
From what I've read, Ford got this one right.

Then you need to step up to the Laguna Seca edition

From what I have read the new 302 is a beast, and if that is what you want to go with have fun.

I really appreciate your love for the Corvette. I have found that I do like the Corvette and have really enjoyed it. What has spurned this on is that I drove a FR500C Mustang (race car) at the track and really had a blast. I thought that with the new Boss, having more power than the FR500C, would be as fun with maybe a few tweakes.

This has nothing to do with money. I just drove home from Barrett-Jackson with a new car for the stable. Something different for me, it is a '31 Ford Vicky that has been in the Hendricks Museum in Colorado. It is a beautiful piece. As stated before, I just love cars.

Could never buy a Ford, but I do like the Saleen Mustang. That would be my choice over the Boss. Of course, if it was me, I would just pick up a Z06 either new or used.

with all due respect to the awesome cars Ford is putting out right now with the Mustang, id say either keep what you got or step up to an LS3 or even an LS7 vette.

As nice as the Mustang is, it will never be a Vette.

I do agree with you there. The paint on the wheels is just....I don't like it. I am looking at the standard Boss 302, blue with the white. That is the best looking of the bunch.

However, this is coming from the guy with a black vette with green track wheels.
