But where is the talk of the C6, it has turned into only talk about the Mustang, the title of the thread was misleading, it was just so you can bring up talk about your stang.

I show my respect to Mustang owners by not going over to their sites and posting about my ZR1, why would I? it is a Mustang site.
If I want to talk Corvette, I go to a Corvette site, if I want to talk Mustangs, guess where I go? A Mustang site. Having said that, sometimes people like to talk about "other cars" on a specific site, that is why most forums, including this one actually has a dedicated forum called..you guessed it.."other cars" Where you can talk stangs all day long and you won't have to put up with guys like me, who don't care about or care to see Mustang, GTR, Porsche threads in the C6 SPECIFIC section.

Question.....

Do you get lots of Corvette owners bragging about how good the Vette is over on your Mustang forums? If so, how do you guys handle it?

You didn't point out Anything. One trip to dealer to get axle nuts replaced? Who cares? The other threads were Normal for the car.

Check www.allfordmustangs.com and read how your Mustang buds are VERY UPSET about the China Trans. grinding and not going in gear. Also check out #8 pistons coming out. In the meantime, read how many people are changing their oil only for the engine to start Ticking and Tapping. You said you spent time on mustang forum, how come you don't know about these and many other problems or is it selective memory??

You don't think stangs have more problems? How do you explain 69 TSB's Ford has issued on Just 2011 Mustangs?

The deal with your nibble/grind is common with the TR6060. That's why they didn't warranty it. My '09 had the same deal for about 3,000 miles then it stopped. Only did it Cold.
Your paint/chunk/chip should have been warranted. You had a rotten dealer.
So for the little grind/nibble when cold and having a rotten dealer not doing their job, you got screwed by GM?? You serious?

All newer cars have problems, some have more than others. The hand i play is that i stay with vehicles that are Proven for Me.
I didn't say Ford is crap, i listed serious issues that are going on now.
I hope Ford, GM and Chrysler prospers, the country needs all the help it can get.
dear long winded tool bag:

I have owned multiples of both cars. my corvettes were always more problematic over my mustangs, but nothing major (aside from a grinding transmission and paint falling off of my brand new 08Z). stop reading crap on the internet and take the advice from some one that can report back with firsthand accounts. I am completely unbiased with my supporting/defending the Boss, figured you guys would believe a corvette owner who also owns a Boss.

There isnt a single reported engine failure for a Boss 302, and the problems with the mt82 were pressure plate related and pertained to the GT. The Boss and GT have stock longblocks already making 900whp with the stock clutch and stock exhaust. No stock LS engine has ever been able to accomplish that, and the new coyote 5.0 is only 1-2 years old.

Go to the first page of the C6Z section and look how many engine failures you can find in 5 minutes . Did you mention engine ticking? The LS7 sounds like a gigantic sewing machine, loudest ticking motor ever created. My Boss motor is the sweetest sounding motor I've ever heard, even over my h/c C6Z.

With that having been said, there is a possibility that I might own another corvette in the future.

I'm sorry that you are threatened with the presence of a mustang that will outperform your C6. You have absolutely nothing positive to add to this discussion except your personal opinion, which have officially been heard.

I'm not saying Ford is better then Chevy, I love both cars. I simply have a low tolerance for ignorance, of which you are plagued with. Open your eyes, clear the $hit out of your ears, and drink a tall glass of STFU

I rest my case, trash the Vette, praise the Mustang..ON OUR FORUMS!! I don't get it?
Then at the bottom, say I love both cars, just to try and get away with the one sided trashing.

Exactly - I'm guessing he missed the April 2011 Hot Rod Magazine article, "Got an '05-'11 Mustang? Here's What's Going to Break". Four pages of fun filled facts for Mustang owners. Sleep well......

first, go back to the original post. then, read all of your contributions. What have you really added to this thread? Absolutely nothing except your biased opinions. I HAVE OWNED BOTH CARS, and have been providing data, first hand experiences between corvettes and the Boss 302.

we've all heard your opinion, but you just cant let it go.

I bring a whole lot more value to the table (this thread) then your "corvettes rule, mustangs suck" mentality. It is your posts, and posts like yours that have robbed the cf community of helping the OP with his question. Is the Boss 302 a better track car then a C6, and the answer is yes. I'm sorry that is hard for you to swallow

2 things..
1. This is C6 GENERAL forum.

2. You did not answer my question if I posted a thread in the Mustang forum that went something like this.

Title....C6Z06 versus Mustang GT500

Then proceeded to say how much better the c6 was in it's handling, LOOKS, comfort, interior, LOOKS, and then throw in the odd, but I love my Ford Lightning, then go on and say how the Z06 will destroy it in the 1/4 mile, the track, top speed, add that the Z06 is not an overweight pig, it doesn't break down like the Mustang, then throw in a "but I am looking at my buddies Queen of the hill Mustang" or what ever it is called...etc...etc.

How would something like that go over on the Mustang forums?....

actually, much to your surprise the mustang guys f'ing love to see corvette posts over on svtperformance.com. The "Pics and Vids" section is loaded with videos, pictures, dyno charts, and 1000's of street racing videos, which are banned over here. Take 5 minutes and see for yourself. I've posted dozens of vids of my Z raping all kinds of cars, including 700-800+hp Mustangs....and they love it. They dont have ego's that get in the way of enjoying seeing/hearing about other cars.

Actually, since it would probably break your old crusty fingers to search yourself I'll provide you with links of threads I created of my Z over there...

Please read all of the support the mustang guys show for corvettes...

I just checked all the Boss 302's on EBay.

First price and second the fact that they now have almost
captured the look of the Mustang II makes this thread dumb.

But that is not the Mustang specific section that is an open section, just like I said, go to our "other cars" section and post your Mustang **** all day long and you won't here a peep from me. I also did not see Vette guys trashing the Fords, like you were trashing the Corvette.
And you went and did all that work, but it wasn't relevant to what I said, shame....

Oh, and the only thing you OWNED, is a Corvette.

But women love the Mustang , Fords target market, if it wasn't for 75% sales to women, the Mustang would of struggled like the Camaro.

Are you stupid? SVTperformance is a MUSTANG WEBSITE

You gave me a hypothetical question..... "C6Z vs Mustang" and I just linked 10 threads THAT I PREVIOUSLY CREATED ON THE SINGLE LARGEST MUSTANG WEBSITE on the web about MY CORVETTE VS.... a 588hp whipple'd cobra, a 700hp+ YSI blown Cobra, 700+hp whipple'd Shelby, and a 800hp 99 GT, ZR1"

(still on the floor laughing...hold on...)

Ok, I can breath again

^and guess what, they f'ing loved it. over 11,000 replies of people joining in on the good times, praising the corvette (again, on the largest mustang forum on the web).

My first post in this thread wasnt until it was 7 pages long. The OP wanted to know about a Boss, and I just happen to be the only unbiased person on the thread with valuable feedback to not only him but the rest of this cf community. I'm posting up good $hit and all you can do is try to crap on it from pure biased stupidity. You are completely f'ing up this thread, good job, you da man

Um, wow, rookie Mustang owner? I owned an SVT Lightning, same forum, now you go to the sub forums (which C6general is) and go the MUSTANG SECTION or the LIGHTNING SECTION or probably even the TAURUS section.

Here is your SVTforums home page which CLEARLY (for most) shows the specific sub forums of which there are those same forums I mentioned....Still Laughing??

Am I stupid??? AWKWARD and OWNED!!!

Your not listening, your so wrapped up in trying to defend the Mustang crap that your not listening to what I am saying, those threads where everybody is having a gay old time is in a general section of the SVT forums, you can talk Mustang crap until your blue in the face over in the "other cars" section of this, the CORVETTE FORUM. This section again for the umpteinth time is for C6 specific only. This thread stopped being about the C6 versus the Boss 302, probably pretty much right when you joined in, so now it should be moved to the "other cars" section, just like every other thread that started or wondered away from being about C6 Corvettes. This is a forum rule or procedure that has been in place long before you or I came along and will be here long after.

OP, congrats on the new purchase. The new 2012 boss is a sweet ride, aside from the Candy Land paint job on the LS.

Personally, I'm not a GM guy, Ford guy, Mopar guy, import guy, domestic guy, or smart car guy--I'm a CAR guy. I love performance and everything that goes with them.

I had actually ordered a 2012 GT premium before finding my C6 for about 2,000 less than the Mustang so I couldn't pass it up.

I test drove the new Mustang on 4 different occasion and was very impressed with the build quality, shifting smoothness, and overall 'wow' factor of the new engine.

Comparing a Mustang to a Corvette is not apples to apples--both are designed and engineered to cater to different target markets.

Both platforms have displayed capability in stock form as well as responding very well to the aftermarket.

Good luck with your new car and keep us posted with more info, or a link to your SVTperformance thread.

i have had the opprotunity to play with a few new 5.0... everyone was telling how fast and amazing they were but my LS2 had no problem pulling away. Im sure the LS3 would demolish one. both in a straight line and on twisties. I am happy to see, however; Ford stepping up with thier pony car. This makes the competitive spirit much more enjoyable for true car fanatics

News flash, you DO NOT have to like all cars to be a "car guy"
You are a "car guy, who likes all cars"

I am a huge "car guy" that likes certain cars, but I can guarantee you do not live, eat sleep cars more than I do.

hmmmm looks like some jerk mustang people got on....thats the other reason I own a recommend a vette... that way you dont have to deal with the average jerk that thinks a mustang is fast and wana be rude about any other car on the road. They have no concept of friendly discussion and competitive spirit. Then in the end they embarrass themselves
