Saw new Motorweek today - 2011 Mustang GT goes 13.0
Don't know if you guys watch the car review show Motorweek but this week they tested the 2011 Mustang GT manual.
It went 0-60 4.7, 1/4 mile 13.0. Starts at $30,995 for coupe and $35,995 for convert.
As an LS2 with just a Callaway Honker, I need to start upgrading.....

Try to get it through the twisties in one piece. Then compare it to the vette. I've owned 8 mustangs, and the mustang (even the cobra) can not hold a flame to the C6. The mustang (or cobra) can not do ONE thing better than the corvette.
I don't even know how this could be debated as competition.

its easy to say a mustang cannot out handle a vette, but this one is lightweight (albeit 10lbs heavier than the base GT), more power, and the performance packages you can get with them make it seem attractive
id be willing to bet this mustang would give a stock ls3 vette a run for its money 0-60, 1/4th, and on the track with a simple tire change. im going to wait until they hit the dealer, because i want to test drive one to see what all the fuss is really about

My friend has a heavily modded Mach. And he can not keep up in a straight line or the twisties.
It's apples to oranges.

I hope your occupation isn't as a gambler.

Can someone tell me how this is possible...
A car with less power and weighs 500 pounds more can trap the same speed as an LS3 vette???
Either Ford is paying off the testers or the power is WAY underrated.

How is it trapping the same? Every stock test I've seen shows an approx. 110 trap for the Mustang. That's hardly the same.

I've seen others with it trapping the same as the articles I've quoted, but am not going to search for them.
I'll also go on record as stating when the youtube videos start popping up, an LS3 vette will easily walk a GT. I bet even an LS2 will pull on it.
