My wife bought one just about a year ago ..and she is absolutely in love with it ..
Its full time 4 wheel drive gives us the safety for winter driving she needs ..
We have owned several full size SUV's over the years and this one fits her best ..
I am a big guy and I am very comfy ..whether driving or on occasion riding with her ..
As far as waiting for the 300 turbo ...the six cylinder we have does great on the highway and the fuel mileage is in the 18/20 range around town ..
I own a 07 (sport package) and, overall I like it. But, wow does that thing have some issues with body flex and squeaks. I wonder if it's from the 20" wheels + huge sunroof
I had high hopes for this vehicle, the styling inside and out is awesome but I've read enough reviews to know it's not for me. For one thing it's a pig as far as weight is concerned around 4400lbs. Also it's based on the same paltform as the Saturn Vue..built in the same plant etc etc..the Vue is.not a bad little SUV but not exactly roomy. So your basically buying a dolled up Vue for a 50% plus premium over a top of the line Vue and about 300 extra pounds in sound deadening and amenities over an AWD XR Vue. I've driven a Vue and they are alright...I'm sure the Caddy is MUCH MUCH nicer inside but other than that it's actually probably less functional.
Not a purchase, but have one right now as a rental for a few days.
Interior is very nice, quality is superb. Leather is very soft and has a high quality feel. Very Lexus like. Ride is very nice and quiet.
The 265 hp version is sufficient, don't think I'd bother with the turbo 300 hp, unless wife really insisted. Fuel mileage estimates are not great for the turbo version.
Overall, I am quite impressed. Seems to be a very nice midsize crossover. I even suggested it as a next vehicle for my wife.

Cadillac insists vehemently that this new SRX shares only its powertrain with the Chevy Equinox and the Saturn Vue. Otherwise—Cadillac’s words, here—“It has no commonality with the Theta platform.”
Of course they insist it's a completely different vehicle after all it uses the Theta "Premium" platform....designed to carry the extra bloat, heavier wheels and slightly wider track the SRX has! Naturally they are going to insist it's a "totally different" crossover, how else can you justify a price mark up of 50-80% over it's automotive siblings built in the same plant. I love the sheetmetal and interior on the thing but your paying alot for that same sheetmetal and interior and crested wreath.

Well... it doesn't have the "same" sheet metal. If it did, they'd look exactly the same.
By the way... is it ok for Lexus to badge engineer the Highlander, 4Runner, and Landcruiser into their own models? Those all DO have the same running gear.
Are they going to share some stuff? Of course, EVERY maker is doing this now. Shoot, the new Ferrari California uses the same nav/stereo as a Chrysler minivan!
