If you HAD to sell your Corvette and you had to replace it with something else (no vettes), what would you buy? It has to be something that you can actually afford... new or used. We all have different budgets but make it realistic!
Go ahead and laugh, but my choice would be a Solstice GXP Coupe. Some people consider them a girl's car but I think they're beautiful and the Coupe will be a rare collector's car someday. I was patiently waiting for them to be released so I could pick one up, but it took so long that used C6 prices finally dropped enough for me to afford one.. and of course C6 trumps Solstice.
Well my vette is strictly a toy/fun car for me so if I were looking for something to replace it with I guess it would be a used Porsche 911 or Viper..... dont think I would spend much over $50-60K at this point for anything.
Now if I had to only pick one car to use as a daily but still wanted fun it would be a tough choice as there are so many cool sedans out there. On my list would be: Audi S4/RS4, Mercedes E55/63, Mercedes CLS55/63, BMW M5, Cadillac CTS-V(2009+), Jaguar XF-R.
I am actually leaning pretty hard towards the new supercharged (2010) Audi S4 as a replacement for my TL Type-S in the next 12-18 months, really like the CTS-V as well but I think I really want an AWD car next time around.

Tough question... there are so many awesome cars to choose from. I respect the Solsice though... the turbo Ecotec can be a monster with some simple mods.
If I had to choose a new DD which would also be fun, my choice would probably be (in this order) an RS4, a chipped 135i, a 911 4s, or a new WRX STI (which look awesome, BTW). I live in Chicago, so the snow factor makes me lean toward getting an awd vehicle.
If I really budgeted and lived on ramon noodles and tap water, then a Ferrari F355 spyder as well, it's one of my dream cars but either a used viper or 911 (turbo if I could find a good price) for sure. I'd be much more capable of spend $20-$40k for a used sports car. probably go with the 911 because its much more streetable and offers a little more luxury.
I had a solstice 2.4 bought it new 08, hated it, got rid of it with 435 miles on it wast of money, I have a mx5 now its twice the car that solstice was.

Well your first mistake was buying a non-turbo Solstice. Your second mistake was buying a Miata...
If the idea is to replace the same function my Z06 currently fills (occasional street driven AutoX/Track Day car) then I think I'd probably go 997 GT3. I'd welcome the challenge of what is well-known to be a driver's car, but difficult to perfect. And with the dry-sump, carbon brakes etc. it is ready for track duty. Of course, in "real life" I'd never make the switch since I haven't come across a GT3 yet that's proven to be faster on track, yet the GT3 would cost me many times more than what I could sell my Z06 for (but yes, I can afford it as per OP).
If I had to get rid of the 'vette and the replacement would be my only car I'd get the new CTS-V, no doubt. I almost went for one in "real life," but since I still have the Z I opted for a Range Rover Sport Supercharged instead.
The Miata is one of the best sports cars out there.
I know a lot of people believe that, and if they like Miatas then that's great. My personal opinion is that a car that does 0-60 in rough 7 seconds, and 1/4 mile in the mid 15s should not attempt to call itself a sports car. Add boring styling in the mix and I just don't see the allure. I'm sure somebody is going to rave about its handling, but who needs handling if you can't even get the car going? The Solstice GXP is a 14 second flat car, and if you get the GMPP upgrade it's in the mid 13s. It's like trying to compare a Miata to a Camaro or 370z... they are in different classes performance wise.
