Default Saw the new CTS-V at the Philly Autoshow.

All I can say is wow. GM really got it right with this car. Fortunately one of the dealers was showing it to a guy before I got in so the keys were in it. Wish I had snapped a pic of the interior.

The finish and detail in this car easily rival if not outdo any of the competition. (I sat in an M3 after - not even close!) The car is absolutely beautiful. Pictures do it no justice. Everything feels just right in that car. And if it performs as well as all the mags say, at the price it is.....its a no brainer. I would have written a check right there if I had the means.

So i was walking out of class, and my buddy writes for windingroad.com and he gets test cars... well after class he goes u like cars right, so i tell him what i have and had and he goes ull appreciate this...so we walk to the garage deck and i see a new red cts-v i go uve got to be kidding me. I couldnt drive it for insurance reasons, but we went for a ride (he had the auto -- they dont want the trannys f'ing up-- but loaded with the upgraded seats, and the new nav, etc.

OMGGGG the stock exhaust on them is actually an exhaust it sounds good, and you can hear the s/c whine from about 20 feet away in that thing. Lets just say even with the auto when hed shift that thing pulled, and pulled hard. This is coming from a guy whos use to procharged c5s.. i was in aw at the interior, VERY nicely done, and the seats are comfy. The new nav/sound system setup also ROCKS.

Nice! Too bad you couldn't pilot it yourself. Yeah I was pleasantly surprised. I was thinking stereotypical GM car of late - big engine, carppy finish, but this was definitley not the case. Better than any M3 or M5 I have sat in.

You used to have an XLR right? ...after the purple C5. I heard the interior wasn't all that great in those? I assume this is much better, comparably?

Maybe if they depreciate like my 1st gen CTS has, I can afford one in a couple of years.

Yep, use to have an XLR.
They discontinued them and announced that a couple weeks ago.

You can't even compare the interiors of these 2 cars. This interior was almost as nice as the newest mercedes (panels on the benz fit better, but this looks just as nice, its just when you go to push a panel you can feel the difference) and I think this was better than the new audi interior, and clearly better than the BMW interior.

The XLR, looked like it was 'trying too hard' to be a nice interior, it still felt cheap. I have owned a few german cars.. E55, M3, CL 600, S4. This thing hands down was faster then all that I just mentioned.

I would really like to see an ECU'd E55/Cl 600 with intake, and heat exchanger, vs this thing stock. I think it would be a hell of a race still.

I was tempted to have him bring it down to Chris @ ECS for a sneaky quick tune haha. I wonder if Chris can tune that engine yet. REALLY Wake it up.

The car's s/c i was amazed you can hear it like i said 20 feet away and the exhaust was deep - Sounded like a borla stinger just way way quieter.

I love vettes. If I NEEDED more than 2 seats, I would hands down get this car. The interior is like a $90,000+ car. I can't reiterate that enough.

Last night they aired the Top Gear with the new CTS-V (along with the ZR1 and the Challenger). I had seen it online before but had to watch it on the big screen after my buddy called to let me know it was on.

You know, I don't know if Chris has had an LS9 in the shop yet - and I actually just got off the phone with them. I'll have to ask Mike later.
