For about 40 - 45 K you can have a sweet sports sedan. Honestly you can have a well set up sport sedan for a fraction of the cost of a CTS-V. I know they aren't quite the same thing, but those that have the money to buy a V probably aren't considering a GXP. If that's all you can afford and I was in the sports sedan market, I would seriously look at it because there is nothing close to it in value.
You easily mod the GXP to out perform a V for far less. I don't buy into all of the mag reviews, but none of them had anything bad to say about the GXP. It's pretty much a steal just like the Corvette is because you get so much performance for the dollar.

I would be happy if I had one.
Good point, one could mod a G8 GT to outperform the G8 GXP and CTS-V. The only thing is GMAC is only offering 0% APR for 60 months on the G8 and GXP, if they offered it on the 09 CTS-V i think my mind would be made up already...
Here's one...F'n A-holes only want 10K over sticker!!
Would you like a list of all the things I want ? The simple fact of the matter is that the economy is in the crapper, car sales are at the bottom of said crapper, and GM put a $1500 rebate on the car from it's first day in the showroom. If someone is uninformed enough to pay their asking price, good for the dealer and bad for the customer. If an informed person went there ready to buy, check book in hand, that car would drive out of there for a whole lot less than $10k over.

Yes, and a much better value IMO. I have not been impressed with the CTS build quality. Performance aside, the Pontiac, IMO, is the better made car. That said, a 550hp CTS is damned impressive, and kudos to GM for making it.
