Wow, they were pretty harsh. "The Z06 comes out on top because it's simply a real sports car." Heh, I have a soft spot for Mustangs though... had a blown 2005 GT... was a lot of fun.
8.89 at 159 MPH with 1.39 60ft time! I own a Z and I respect the hell out of the GT500. All the guys that actually go to the track will know their potential. All the guys that bench race off youtube videos or magazine articles will get taught a lesson on the street sooner or later! EDIT: Ah man I just read your sig, you shoulda kept the KB terminator!
Any car has low ET potential once heavily modified. I thought we were talking stock or factory modded GT500s and KRs here, not aftermarket performance shop mules to show the descrapancy from the Z06/C6 and the Mustangs. I do not and cannot respect an almost $100K "sports"car (Gt500KR @ dealer markup) that barely lands in the mid to higher 12's stock. You could buy 2 LS3 C6s for that bank. The only reason I quoted magazine testing on the KR is becuase I don't see any out there making passes yet.I've raced Gt500s at the track for two years now and they are not the monsters alot of people are led to belive they are. Sure, like every car, there's some good passes of them to be found on you tube or other places, but for the most part, all stock GT500s are making passes between 12.5-13.5(a bigger percent going 13's or slower) and most still sale for more than a base LS3 Vette.
Wow, their always has to be some ford boy who thinks he knows what's going on. The original post was about a 09 Z06 VS the GT500 KR. These cars are brand new, and common sense tells you we are talking stock setups. Don't even get me started with the modded aspect, because the vette will still burn the mustang to the ground.
I was on the factory run flats from GM. As a whole fords suck, of course that's my opinion. By the way Maniax Racing my 23 year old brother has a WS6 T/A with a blower on it also that is daily driven that will spank that GT500 of yours. Come down to Arkansas sometime, we might give you a little education. NOW WHAT LOL
Anybodies game when it's modded. The Corvette just has more potential than the stang. One thing is for sure, you can't tell a ford boy that he is wrong. They always come back with something. So do us a favor and go post on a ford website. Plenty of GM stuff(my brothers daily driven trans am included) that will beat up your mustang anyways.
Bro I guess you missed the part where I said I just sold my 2007 Novi blown vette! So I am a Ford boy?? Interesting......... I love american muscle PERIOD. I am a member here dick and on fords sites! I just ran a ws6 n2o car that was suppose to be a street car and it arrived on a trailer with a big tire, and lets see he went home less some change in his pocket!!!!! Your brothers car does'nt scare me. I am not saying the GT 500 is better just simply stating the facts, I sold my vette becuase I was at the short blocks limit! Way to go GM, build a ****ty short block! Ford built a stout drivetrain and I wanted a 1000 hp. I also like the feel of my Shelby better the vette just never sat well with me! My vette was all over this website, so how am i a ford boy. Make it worth our wild tuff guy we can set something up, I have a trailer we can meet you in the middle.

I should have watched your video first...... 11.40's pleeeeeaaaassseee. That isn't worth my fuel, maybe your brother has a little more to bring to the table

You are totally correct! I feel the exact same way! $100,000 for a low 12 second car. I could of bought one but decided to get my 08 GT 500. I paid $46,000 for my car brand new and sunk about $28,000 in it to get where I want to be, suspension, motor, wheels, tires, hood everything. That puts me at $74,000 for a 800 rwhp car that drives like its from the factory and handles like its on rails.

Maniax racing you have to be kidding. I wasn't talking any crap about my car out running yours. Please go back and re-read what I wrote. My brother’s car on the other hand is a different story all together. Fact is he could drive it to Maryland, and outrun you if he wanted to.
Now that we have that settled, let’s talk about your short block nonsense. You could put a built short block in a vette would be way superior to the one in your stang. You had to mod your mustang anyways, should have modded the vette some more. Anyone who would sell their blown 07 vette for a ford is a ford boy. Now you have a car that looks like a V6 mustang with a body kit and dual exhaust. By the way that 11.40 pass was the first pass I ever made in that car. I was happy with it, I ran 11.30s the rest of the day. These ETs were due to the factory tires from GM. It's a 10 sec car. But that really doesn't matter. Just letting you know. I love the fact that you said "I also like the feel of my Shelby better the vette just never sat well with me." LOL I hope you were kidding. That has to be one of the funniest things I have heard this week.
Hey I just now looked at your profile, it saids you had 535rwhp. Do you think that was pushing the limits of your shortblock in your vette. lol Please gather your thoughts on the next post, I didn't think you were ever going to stop posting.

Most around here pay between $55K and $65K still. There are cheaper ones from time to time, but not the norm. Of course, Vettes are still going above sticker here, dealerships here treat nicer cars like they're made of gold and oil, lol. Thats why I bought out of state. Sounds like you've dedicated alot into your car and I can respect that.

My thoughts are gathered and the 535 rwhp was on 8 to 9 psi. The car made close to 600 with the smaller pulley and yes the short block was at its limit! The Shelby seats are alot nicer and the overall comfort to me is better! I didn't say I didn't like my vette just that I like my Shelby better! Hey if I didn't like the vette I wouldn't have put all that money in it! The problem is I wanted a 1000 rwhp car and the vette had many things going against it! Rear end! Clutch! Short block! It has been proven over and over the stock Shelby TWIN disc clutch, tranny, short block and axles are handing what I am looking for allowing me to put the money in making the HP. Pretty confident in little bros car! I would love to make it worth it to you two to see you drive it up here or like I said 1/2 way! Man crappy Ford vs the almighty GM, could be interesting. Up here we run for a fat purse

The dealers are still trying to get mark up. I would have not paid over sticker, I actually got mine for $1600 under.

It was for sure a cheaper route to make the mustang faster, but that is usually the case when you are talking ford VS GM. Sorry man, but this is just a few words in an arguement. Going to have to pass on the drag race. Plenty of guys in mustangs to outrun around here LOL. Rich Christianson is doing a $10,000 purse arm drop event this weekend at Memphis Motorsports Park. Wanted to do that, but me or my brother couldn't make it through tech. Car just has to run 11.50 or better to have a shot at the money. Should of made a trip to Memphis, that would have been close enough.

Great work at the track, great car also BETTER comments keep killin'em'.
Thanks man, anything fast around were I'm from is GM. Every now and then you have someone in a ford that thinks they can compete. They always find out otherwise. It was funny the day I actually outrun those two blown mustangs at the track. I got 32 mpg the hour 45min trip there, and it was 105 degrees that day. The GT 500 was trailered, and he wouldn't even race me from a roll on the way home like he promised.
I spanked a Roush SC 435hp with a stock o6 mn6 on the track of coarse
A stock 08-09 C6 LS3 will be a driver race and more then enough to take on the KR. The stang may have more HP but the extra weight over the C6 brings them closer in performance. The Z06 will be much quicker..

Just a heads up fellas, no such thing as a Roush KR. And no one who knows anything about the S197 platform would ever put a Roush charger on his Mustang. I own a 2006 GT with a few mods, and I did own a 2006 C-6. I traded the C-6 in on a 2008 Highlander Hybrid due to the fact that it sat in the garage while I drove the Mustang. It had its pluses, but the Mustang is more fun to drive IMO. It is heavier, but quite capable of 10.xx time.

Fun Ford Weekend is coming this weekend for you Socal guys if you want to line up
Hey man thanks for the vids, not a bad car you got their. Not to hurt your feelings but your car stock would be a good race with a bone stock 93 LT1 f-body. Anything can be made fast with money; those mustangs were not really impressive. 20.5 LBs of boost to make 636rwhp and 594rwtq. That really shows how efficient your motor is.
No matter what though, you have a fast car. Just don't go comparing it to a vette. I wouldn't try racing a corvette with similar mods as yourself either, that would be bad news for you.

Exactly, just a matter of what you like. With the cash I have into mine I could have bought almost any car. 20.5 lbs of boost, but my displacement is stock along with everything except the internals, that may be changing soon.
I don't think you (Corvette guys) are beating those Mustangs in the 1/4 But, I would like to see the races
What kind of numbers are the highly modded C-6's running?

Highly modded C6s aren't running anything. We don't feel like buying the right tires and putting the time in to get the numbers. We just like to talk a big game on the internet.
