Saturn Sky
Sorry guys. I know this is C6 but I posted in OT and no response.
Can any one give me a review on the 2008 Sky? I would like to hear from someone who owns one and not an internet review.
Thanks.

If your looking to get one please get the Sky Redline...comes with a ECOTEC 2.0 Turbocharged. Lots of fun to drive!
Also an awesome motor that makes alot of power with bolts on's!

My son-in-law has a Sky Red Line. As mentioned don't waste your time with anything but the Red Line.
It's a very fun and stylish car for the money and his has been trouble free after 1 year.
I recall there was an issue with rear axle leakage from the seal on 1 out of 4 vehicles but it has since been fixed in '08.

could a modified one run anywhere near an ls3 vette??
There's a local guy out here who has a modded one (intake, exhaust, tune, etc)...wondering how I'd do if we...raced at the track...?

There is a shop doing aftermarket V8's in the Solstice/Sky market. I don't remember who they are though.
You might be able to find out on the M Car forum or good ole Google.

poor mileage on my redline, NO ROOM in cockpit or trunk! overpriced,This car is like driving a disposable go kart for me. 15 months and 2k miles. Glad I have a real sports car the C6; it gets better mpg than our redline thats a 08 turbo 2.0 liter! the rearend has been replaced once at 1250mi TSB No Brakes at startup! It will be the only Saturn I ever buy.

Definitely a fun stable mate for your Vette for days when you just want to have some fun on the twisties.
It will never be able to run with the Vette but is still a fun car to drive.
Definitely get the Red Line with the extra HP.
GM is coming out with a coupe version of the Soltice with a removable roof panel, will the Saturn Sky folllow suit????

Yes, the Saturn Sky redline can be made to run with a C6........
Quite easily in fact. There are lots of cars out there that can be built to run as fast, or faster then the C6. I owned a neon SRT-4 that would walk down a C6 on the highway....
To the OP, a guy at work has one and loves it. I really do like the style of it, most people are surised to find out it's a Saturn.

Now, figure that the average ls3 you meet on the road (with someone who's down to play around) will have at least intake/exhaust and is therefore trapping 117+...tough to picture a Saturn Sky keeping up with that kind of speed.

I have an '07 Solstice GXP, essentially the same as the Sky Redline save sheetmetal and interior.... lots of fun, but as someone else said ZERO trunk and feels kind of "disposable", I use it when I dont want to take my baby out ('08 black vert, A6, Z51, 3lt, NPP).
I bought it thinking it might work as my play car but just couldnt hold out and got the Vette 3 weeks later... so now I have both, sounds great but my wife wants to kill me!!

It was on my short list before I bought the vette. I couldn't fit with the top up and the price was ridiculously high ($38k) so the vette was the easy decision. The Redline is peppy but no where near the speed of the C6 is

hmm...not calling BS but I raced a Stage 4 SRT4 (upgraded turbo + EVERYTHING else he could throw at it) when I was in my 99 c5 A4 with bolt ons (making 340rwhp) and I walked him on the freeway. SRT4s aren't trapping 115+ very easily.

at 340RWHP you would fall victim to many many SRT-4's
Check out a couple of these for fun

Or the famous SRT-4 vs CS Z06 race..

OP:
Point being Turbocharging dramatically increases the power output of a chicle, and offers truly unlimited tuning options for more power.
For the Sky Redline with the Ecotec, that motor has great potential, it was built very well, and will make lots of power for not a whole lot of cash. Very good little car.
