Default CLS63 all the way...

I have owned a 07 z06 and just ordered a 09.... I also have a e63 and love it... I you have to choose between the two, the cls63 would be more fun.. I also owned a cls500, it looks great.. You have a ton of wheels options for the cls..

You really can't go wrong!

It is fun to blow people away with the mercedes.. Most people have no idea what it is..

A CLS63 is about as fast as a Corvette, but the sensation of speed will not be the same because of the size and refinement of the car. Same reason the C5 Z06 feels faster than a C6 - it has a much more raw feel to it. The sensation of speed is just as important as the speed itself.

Hard to answer the OP's question - everyone is different. I'd love to have a CLS 63, but it would not offer me the same thrill when I run the back roads on the weekends - which is what I have the Corvette for.

You're talking 2 different cars built for different things. The CLS63 AMG is a great car with a beautiful design but it's a 4-door car with a big motor. It's built cruising at high-speeds in comfort, not for days at the track.

The Z06 is a 2-seat high-performance car and we all know what it's capable of in different environments.

The question isn't will you get bored of the drive, it's what kind of car do you want.

08 e63 mercedes..

they are dead even at the start, then the vette starts pulling away..
not bad for a 4 door...

The Benz is a nice car. It'a a matter of preference.

I had a Benz a few years ago. I don't see myself ever having another one, because, and this may sound strange, but it didn't fit my personality.

I'm sure its a nice ride... but it's no replacement for a vette.. The vette is a sports car with a body glove fit and feel.. lacking refinement compared to the benz... but it delivers the sports car "feel"..
The weight difference is enough to answer your question.. I wouldn't want a lead sled with a big engine..

is 1990 your birth year? If so and the crash was your fault id get the cls63, get some more car around you as a "just in case" type of thing rather then a faster version of what you have

Get whatever car makes you happy. Personally, I would get a Z06. Owning another car is just not the same. It is nice, but it's not a CORVETTE.

I had 3 Mercedes ( 500sl, SL500 and M430) over a 6 year period and not 1 of them ever needed service. The first Vette I bought in 04 didn't make it home before the battery went dead..
That stuff about Mercedes reliability is old news and no longer applies. The reason they had electronics issues is because they pioneered many of the systems being used and were the first to use them. Also, if you do need service, Mercedes will deliver you a loaner car at home , take your car in for service and wash your car while it's being serviced. The down side of this is...I had them pick up my vehicle for state inspection and 7500 mile service, and the driver hit the wall in my garage and damaged the car and the wall.

Will chevy do that? I doubt it, although I wouldn't want a service guy or "retired" person driving my vette in for service. I'm not knocking anyone that's retired, but many of those people at dealerships are not used to driving any performance cars.
With all that said, my 08 vette is still more fun to drive than any Mercedes I've had...

Here's my view of the difference in how each car makes you feel..
The Benz makes you feel wealthier because it's so damn expensive.....even though some have huge payments. Mine was $1300/month on SL500 lease.
the Vette puts a grin on your face while costing a heck of alot less than Benz.

I'll take the grin anyday.

They are dissimilar cars imo...but I like that 63. It looks like a pretty hot car to me.

Love the Benz. You're really not comparing apples to apples in my opinion. The Benz is much more practical, but the Corvette screams sports car.

Flip a coin, best two out of three.

Two great choices, not sure what I would choose, do not think you can go wrong with either one.
