I know the tires are very expensive (funky size) but it's a fast, nicely appointed car. It drives very nice with lots of top end surprisingly enough (I would have expected more low end with it having a blower).
Anyway, I like them and I think you can get a steal on one used.
I know someone that wants to sell one if you're interested (Michigan)

Yes, been looking on e-bay so if you can PM me some info I'd appreciate it.
I just picked one up last week ('06, 18,000 miles) so I don't have as good of an opinion as someone who has had one for a while. But one thing i can say is that it moves real quick for how heavy it is (13.1 in the 1/4 in the mags). It's fairly comfortable with a good handling but not too rough ride. The radio, navigation and voice recognition system seems fairly easy to use also.
The only bad things are that it's not the best on the gas mileage (on par with a CLS, M5 or 300C SRT8). The tires for the original wheels are limited and can be fairly expensive. I have 2 sets of wheels and the tires for the 20s are cheaper than the stock 18/19 combo.
But overall, they depreciate BAD which is good for buying one used.
I got to ride in a current-model STS (regular) that thing is one of the nicest cars I have ever been in. It rides like a dream and everything about it is amazingly top notch. Fark t3h Mercedes/BMW! Go for the STS-V!
