Default Hearse construction

Hi Guys, My daily driver is a 1964 Galaxie Hearse. (no vettes, i just repair them!)

I have a question about U.S hearse construction... Was fibreglass used to make the new tall roofs on these vehicles in the 50s and 60s? The roof are usually quite curvy side to side and front to back, if steel they must have had good metal workers on the job. Mine was made out of a standard 'country sedan' and i am reroofing to to extreme rust and want to make a tall roof like the U.S types etc.

I'm hoping a bunch of fibreglass car nuts like vette people MIGHT know!

cheers
