Default Any G35 Coupe Owners?

Anyone have any comments good, bad, indifferent about these cars? Looking for a comfortable daily driver that I can put about 150 miles a day on, mostly highway duty. I'm hearing that people are getting about 23 mpg on the highway or better, can anyone verify that?

I'm only looking to spend between 15-18k for a daily driver so figuring an '04 with about 50k miles would be in that range. Anyone know of any problems to look out for with this model year?

I came real close to buying a G37. I was dead set on getting one. In the performance/luxury segment it really is the best bang for your buck.

I rented a G35 sedan for a week to get a feel for it while waiting for the G37 to hit the market. I was pretty impressed with it. I took it on a couple of 300 mile drives and found it very comfortable. It had a decent amount of HP (the 305 HP version) and I had no problems with passing on mountain roads.

I've heard the clutch can be quite finicky on manual equipped cars, but the one I drove was an automatic. Most of the cars I've owned have had manual transmissions and that's what I prefer. But I actually liked the automatic in the Infiniti and if I'd bought a G37 I likely would have got it with an automatic.

So why don't I have a G37? Well, I found out that you could buy a used Z06 with almost no miles for less than you would pay for a G37. So here I am

I have driven/riden in a couple. While they are fun to drive its mostly because they are RWD and can toy with that. I know some of the early ones had VERY plasticy interiors, like an old c4 vette, thats one thing i didnt like about them, i think they got better as time went on. They are definetly fun to drive but i would not call the older ones (in your price range) "luxury." That being said they are still better than lots of other cars in that price range. For me i would much rather have my old saab 92x which was just as luxurious, turbod, awd, and cheaper (can be had less that 17k with less than 30k miles). To answer your other question i dont know the common problems of them sorry. I do know you can by a TT kit for them and make a pretty reliable 400+hp for $8k
