Shelby GT500? I love my corvette but I'd like to get something with 4 seats. I'm asking here because it's going to be less biased than these cars' specific forums and you guys are car guys so you'll have opinions. Both would be 2008 models. Money is not really an issue.
Thanks for your advice?
APPLES and ORANGES right there my friend! I like the GT500 looks and I know it responds well to simple mods as all MUSTANGS do,but the BEEMER is a BEEMER!!
'Nuff said.I'm not particularly as awestruck as some w/these beemers but I suppose it's quite the car!!
I'm not a mustang basher, in fact I have had several stangs, years back, but Ford cannot touch BMW in quality, refinement or looks. My wife has an 05 530i that is just flat out "nice"! The quality is far superior to Ford or GM and the car has great power for a 4 door sedan. It also handles very nice and remember the 530i is not one of BMW sports machines! So I can only expect what you are looking at will be very nice.

with the above. It's apples and oranges. I used to have a Cobra and I think the quality of the C6 is FAR superior to anything Ford ever put into a Mustang. If $$$ truly is no object, go BMW (and I'm a diehard buy American kinda guy) but you will not be happy going C6 to Mustang if you like your Vette.
Hmmmm....let's see, I need to pick between a horse or a camel; please help me decide.
They both have advantages and disadvantages. The same thing here...I own a BMW and have ridden in my pal's M3. Great cars, good build quality, extremely smooth engines and very attached feeling to the road. My friend told me the M3 manual was really hard to drive smoothly, however.
A neighbor took me for a ride in his Mustang. Pretty tacky and plastic looking interior, sort of a harsh ride, and real strong acceleration. Good looking car for the money. You need to drive both and decide which one meets more of your needs.

...both are good cars in their own way but the BMW is a more refined car and the GT500 is more of a blunt instrutment. Go with whichever you prefer more.

Between the two M3 for sure. You will get luxury and a well built car that is fun to drive. In the Ford you have a strong motor that doers only one thing, haul its heavy butt straight. Don't think about making any turns in the Shelby. If you are a big Mustang fan I would go with a Roush Stang over the Shelby.
