I had an 02 Escalade EXT. It was the first year they offered that body style. Had it for 3 years and put 76,000 miles on it. I drove it everywhere and not once did it give me any problems. The only thing I ever had to replace(besides fluids) was the driver side fog light bulb twice, thats it. I miss that truck so much. I used to get stares, waves and honks when I got it. For a then 25 year old It was a great time. I currently have an 03 Escalade and have 50,000 miles on that one. Same thing. Just fluids, brakes and thats about it.

PROS:
-Looks- even though the newer model is out< I sometimes still prefer the previous styling.
-Power- its got 350 hp so it moves pretty good.
-Storage-with the rear seats removed and the middle seats folded down, it can hold a lot of stuff back there.
-Maintenance- like I said, very easy on the wallet.
-And believe it or not,I used to get 20mpg on the highway cruising at 70. I think thats pretty damn good for a big *** truck.

CONS:
-Fuel consumption around town with a heavy foot can make that needle move quick to empty side.
-Removing the 3rd row seats are a pain. For one, they are heavy, 2, you have to keep putting them back on and off. PITA.

Thats about it. I'm sure you'll love it.

I own a 07 EXT which is kinda my DD(weather/ mood dependent) and I love it. I owned a 04 Avalanche(basically a EXT with different mouldings/ engine) before that and I had no issues with it either. If the sticker shock of fillups doesn't bother you I say do it.
