Ok, not Vette related but LS based...Need your help

Have an 02 Silverado, 92k miles, 5.3

Repaced the battery today and upon startup this thing barrely wants to idle at 2-300 rpm. Is this normal, does the computer need to relearn anything?
Im guessing the computer is real similar to whats in you guys' C5s as the motor is LS based?

Radio didnt lose its memory....

Changed one out a few years ago and no issues, has always run flawless. Other than idle runs great. It doesnt idle "rough". just reeeeal low.

Thanks

Well, in the C-5's and probably the C-6's, there is an idle memory function that the PCM calculates and uses. Normally I think it takes several start/run cycles before it finds the information it needs to make it idle properly. On the C-5's for sure, there is a idle speed memory procedure that will allow it to go into the idle learn mode. You will have to find out what that is for your specific vehicle. Disconnecting the battery can indeed cause that to be lost.

Started it 3-4 more times since. LAst time out it started and ilded in park Ok, went to drive and idled Ok. Got to the next tlight and went down low again and stays the same.
Ill drive it a bit again tomorrow, hope what you said is right. Never had a problem until I replaced the battery....Weird. Cranks over pretty fast, amps gauge appears to read normal. ????

KInow where I might be able to find this relearn procedure? Cant afford to take it in somewhere and dont have a FSM.
Warranty just expired, lol.

Why not read the codes, there could be something in there, that will point you in the right direction, Have you checked the plug on the idle solonoid.

Take it to aoutozone or one of those auto parts stores, they will read it for free, if you don't have a code reader.

The IAC and TB was one of the things that came to mind that you can check. I'd start there anyway.
