Default Trailblazer SS: Opinions please

I am thinkning about a trailblazer SS for a daily driver. I think it would be fun and comfortable and not to big. Currently I have a 2500 Suburban and a Lexus for daily drivers......my only concern would be that if I got rid of the Sub...I might regret it.

Who has or has had a TBSS and what do you think about them?

thanks
Bill

I like them!!!! If I needed a family vehicle I would be looking for a Black Trailblazer SS AWD. My wife loves the way they look and I love 400 HP!!!! and the family will fit in it!!! WIN WIN WIN!!!

Fantastic engine and drive train in a very dated body.

my wife and i were having this very conversation recently...

if we were truly in the mkt for an suv (right now it's more conversational tem), the ss is on the short list. roomy, looks good, sweet motor. lousy on gas, but oh well.

maybe they're fazing out the trailblazer, or at least the last time i looked on teh chevy site to "build a vehicle," it wasn't on there. if so, i'd imagine they can be had for a good deal soon.

Just drove my buddies a few nights ago - I have to agree with all the above comments - Great powertrain and comfy seats , crappy everything else - Around here you can get great prices on em , so if the budget is the thing I dont see how you can go wrong - If you just want a fast truck and money no object , I would go with the Jeep SRT or Porche Cayenne .

That alone is enough to knock it off of a daily driver list. Get something that doesn't require a $50+ fuel bill every week.

I have mine for sale actually...if interested send me an email at rbelden71@aol.com

I really love mine..the only reason I'm selling is to get a vehicle that is more comfortable for long trips (400+ miles). I've driven mine back and forth to Florida several times now...not bad for long rides, however VERY good for shorter commute trips in daily traffic

As mentioned Engine, Brakes, Suspension and Seats all fantastic. Interior dash is kind of Vanilla...but its a sport SUV that cost half as much as the Porsche...so what would one expect?

If you dont drive like a lunatic all of the time the TBSS can get 14-15mpg with no problem, I have 2 friend that have them and they can get this kind of mileage with no problem..... Hell I get a solid 12mpg around town with the H2

Thats not bad mileage for a 400 HP SUV, we used to have a 6 cyl Explorer that didnt do better than 15 and change around town, 18 on the Highway if you were damn lucky with a tail wind.

If you want some turd thats good on Gas buy a Hybrid or tiny displacement 4 banger otherwise you are gonna compromise on gas mileage.

I still don't get the reasoning in complaining (mentioning) about the MPG in such a vehicle. It weighs a ton(s), it has a 6.0 and it kicks out 400hp. What do you expect? Especially in one that is AWD. It's not like it is a flaw that needs a recall to fix it. I supposed it could have DOD, but it doesn't, so 15mpg is no suprise. Look at what the 6.0 trucks get for milage. Lots of weight, lots of gear, big heavy rotating mass all equal a kill on fuel economy (or lack thereof).

I'd have one.

I dont see anything wrong with the MPG ratings. I have an 03 envoy v6 and i am lucky to get 15. Should have just bought one of those and have 200hp extra and the same gas bill

Bought my wife an '07 in Imperial Blue. Great SUV. She loves the truck, the handling, and the performance. The gas mileage could be better I guess but that is something we have to put up with.

Overall personally the SUV is everything that I expected.

exactly I see my brothers hunk-o-beast suburban and it's sticker and shiver. He could have had 400hp! The hunk-o-beast is comfy though.

I was averaging right at 15mpg with mine which I thought was great! I really liked the truck. I did not like the cheap looking dash!!
Mine was an 06 AWD with 10k miles I had a few thousand in mods and sold it a couple of weeks ago for 27,500.00 I sold it within a couple hours of putting it up for sale. I would say if you buy one you need to buy it below book because the dealers are damn near giving them away.
Here is a couple pics

What kind of burb you got? 4x4? what year and engine?
If you got an 8.1 4x4... I wouldn't dump it. Especially if you do any sort of towing, and they are rare beasts, it's the cool factor of having a BBC under the hood, and knowing that even with the 6.0... you really gotta try to blow the drivetrain up.

Your highway mileage will be about on par with the TBSS's.
