Default Mustang Shelby GT500 vs C6.

Which do like better??? I hate to say this because I'm pro Chevy Corvette but the GT500 with stripes is cool.

The stripes aren't as cool when they lose color after you wash it a couple of times.....

finally saw one on the road today.

white with silver stripes, very nice looking car with the Carroll Shelby signature plate on the dash.

what really blew my mind was the fact that the guy driving it looked to be in his late sixties. I mean, 9 tmes out of 10 anyone driving a mustang is a teenager or a 20-something.

I gotta hand it to the guy tho. when the light turned green he gave the engine a few revs, eased up on the clutch and hit the freeway ramp at a world class rate.

still, 60 something driving a Shelby?

just didn't look right, almost disturbing in a strange sorta way.....

I guess my point is that a Shelby 'whatever' is still nothing more than a glorified mustang. put some ground effects, some wheels and some stripes, and WA-LAH, you have a Shelby.

What you pay for it is none of my business.

drive by any high school in America and you'll see what I mean.

Than a Z06 is just a glorified regular corvette!! Exactly...
And yes I have 512RWHP with just a CAI & Tune GT500. That's 6.5hp per lb compared with 6.3 on a Z06 & 8.0 on a regular vette. I love corvette's by the way, just sold my 1,500 mile H/C, Full Exhaust, CAI, 440RWHP 06 coupe because It didn't pull hard enough.

I had some guy next to me at a red light ask me if I wanted to trade my Vette for his gt 500. I just laughed and drove off when the light turned green.

512 X 6.5 = 3,328lbs.

seems to me you've done some serious weight reduction........

add a slightly pudgy driver and a tank of gas and your in the 4200/4300lb. ballpark when it comes to race weight.

Im with ya! I just PM you! You have a hot looking ride! I dig the Torch Red with white stripes and 2 tone inside. The Shelby GT500 is a mean looking ride...

I own a Corvette, but I enjoy ALL performance cars. Check out this video of a GT 500 with under $9000.00 in mods! Quite impressive times!
I don't think we could put a new c6 into the 9's with only 9 grand! The supercharged Mustangs have internals that are probably good for 1000HP. I see Ford GT with turbo's on stock blocks making 1500+ HP! We need an LSX block or expensive after market to do this!

He didn't. You just need to run your numbers again...this time accounting for drivetrain losses.

With already having the vette, I would take the Shelby. They do sound good.

512 is at the REAR WHEELS=600 crank hp Dough Head!! 600x6.5=3900lbs.....

Oh & by the way, up to 560 at the WHEELS with a new Pulley & Re-Tune(650 crank). 1,200$ Total invested!!
