Attention C5 owners that hate on Honda power.
I read a lot of people's thoughts on import tuner cars (Honda seems to get get singled out the most) on this forum. It seems they have the reputation of being a big joke to many of you. You poke fun at the bodykits, big wings, overall lack of power, and of course the "fart-can" exhausts. Not to say that you are wrong in saying this kind of stuff, because for the most part it is probably true. It just seems like a harsh generalization to me. With this being said I feel the need to point out to some of you that are clean examples of import tuner cars out there. So FWIW this is my friend's 95 Civic hatch. What do you think?

I'll never understand why people who HAD to put tens of thousands of dollars into their car to make it remotely competitive feel the need to talk over people who buy their car from the dealer, take it straight to the track, and can post an impressive time.
However, just be honest about your car. If you have a riced-out Civic, you drive a Civic. It's not a "Cool, Ferrari beating, dope ride, yo"... it's a Civic, even if it WILL beat a Ferrari. You can redo the kitchen, lay marble slabs down as the floor, serve dinner on gold dishes, and put a bidet in the bathroom... but if your "fabulous, luxurious, elegantly-appointed, stately home" happens to be located in a trailor park... it's still a trailor. And you probably won't get too many ooohs and ahhhs describing it to people who own $20mil palaces.
That's all I'm saying.......

Dude if you’re happy with it … then what do you care what people think?

I'll ask you this. If you don't care what other people think why read what people think here on this forum?
I care what other people think because I like getting other people views on things. We are all different. Thats what is interests me.

First and foremost i am a car guy - i like cars, all sorts of cars, including the little Hondas and the rest of the import culture, they are today what we had as kids and with the stupid prices you see on places like Barrett-Jackson these cars are a great alternate to younger people. I say Good on ya - i like your cars - not that i would own one - BUT I DO like what you've done with them

Even if that car has the HP, it doesn't have the torque feeling of a N/A V8, even still it looks feels and drives like a compact car not a sports car. And most of all it's FWD. Yes it still qualifies as rice, did he do a nice job, yes, but does it put him in a sports car category, NO.
