If Ferdinand, a Kentucky derby winner can be slaughtered, any horse can become food.
If you look into this subject it is a very, very sad thing; the entire process from shipping to eventual death is terrible. Unfortinately, the econony even effects this subject, as caring for a horse costs money.
I hope more people become aware of and involved in saving horses.
Some one just offered wife a free horse!
Thankfully our fence is taken down & barn full of my old tractors , car parts. Other odds & ends I can't part with..
She has been the horse owner route, boarding stable manager.
There are more things that can go wrong with them..............
Good to know they're all safe. A few years ago was part of a wreck with an overturned semi loaded with horses in a pig trailer. The horses were on their way to slaughter when it overturned. Bad wreck, some died but many others lived and were adopted. Great nowing many were saved.
