Default Drove a 2010 Camaro SS today!!

A friend and fellow forum member who is an exec at the GM Oshawa plant was kind enough to bring a new Camaro SS to my house this morning so I could check it out; I also had the chance to drive it for an extended period of time!! It was a 6 spd fully loaded SS. Great car, loved it!! The look on people's faces when they saw it driving around was priceless!! They go on sale March 15th.

These pics are later this morning at the Powell Race Shop in Port Perry where corvette race driver and LG Motorsports owner Lou Gigliotti was visiting for business...I think he likes the Camaro!

I believe this fully loaded one was $42,000 CND, but I don't know that for certain.

They need to do something with the gold bowties on Chevys. I hate them.

I am looking forward to getting a chance to lay eyes on one up close and personal. So did you run down and put your money up for one?

Overall, I like it, the dash could use some work though and it looks bland without stripes or something.

Can't believe they can't mold that xm antenna into the spoiler or side mirror.

That rear is ugly as Oprahs.

Om another note. How many people are really going to buy these?

Other than the cheap looking Camaro badge infront of the door and the big bow tie on the trunk, I love it. Those can be removed.

Does Chevy plan on putting in a mid-level engine in them as well, for the people who dont want to spend the $42k on them? Like Dodge does with the Challenger, you can get the V6, 5.7 375hp and then the 6.1 425hp.
If they don't, I think the Challenger looks better and better each day....oh, and the fact that the Challenger is already out and there is no set date to release the Camaro.

I agree.......

Maybe it's the color I don't know , it just "needs" a little something.......

I prefer the looks of the Challenger.......

I think it's because the Challenger actual resembles the original ones.
When I first saw one, I had a hard time telling if it was a new one or an old one that had a retro restoration.

American cars, especially Chevy, just don't know how to make the interiors of their cars look anything but cheap

looks horrible, just like the rear end.

I wish I had my 1968 vert, with the 3-speed and 8 track back ... 40K miles, $675

My wife wanted to consider one of these, but, after looking at these pictures

Just my $0.02

Saw a Yellow one last night here in San Antonio. Looks like basically a 2 passenger car. With a tall driver and seat all the way back its 5 inches from the back seat, with passenger seat up for a tall person to sit in the back you would be touching the dash with your knees. I guess most that would by it wouldn't be hauling family and friends around. IMHO I don't think it will last if it can't compete price wise with the Mustangs, that was a factor in it's demise in 2002.

They also will be available with a 300hp v6 as well as a base v8 that I don't know the hp of. The $42k is CDN dollars, which is about $34k USD. The car I saw today was loaded except for a sunroof, and it had the upgraded interior. I just phoned my friend to double check the price guess he told me, and with the upgraded interior, the price of a fully loaded SS will be about $5k CDN higher. These prices are just educated guesses at this point.

The target release date for sale is March 15th.
