The new garage bay where I am going to install a lift is 14 feet in height. I am going to have a garage door opener installed that will not interfere with the lift, etc.
Has anyone had experience installing a jackscrew wall-mounted opener from Liftmaster? Is it a DIY project? This is going to be my first new spring project and I am apprehensive. I have installed regular openers before, but I have no idea how this new one works.
I installed the 3800 a few months ago. It took me about 3 hrs and was pretty straight forward. It opens a 16' wide door without any problems and I am very happy with it.
I installed this liftmaster 3800 myself without any problems and simple tools. It was easier to install than a standard over the head door opener and operates much smoother.
You might peruse the forums over at www.garagejournal.com for an install thread. Seems like there's a thread about those kind of openers at least once every couple of days
