Sorry to hear about so many lay offs.
Just cracked a beer open as I'm finishing the day from home.
I've had one job offshored (good ole IBM) and I was part of 8000 contrators let go during one week. The last one was two years ago.
I took my current gig as a contractor and they liked me so they offered me a position. While HR dragged their worthless asses around the company fired off a world wide hiring freeze so I'm stuck as a contractor. My current employer is doing horrible so I wouldn't be shocked if I don't make it thru 09.
A former manager from another company wants to hire me back but he's waiting on someone to retire.

Its been good actually...when I got laid off there was no thought of going back to work. I had too much time and experience in my field and there is plenty of work out there for an independent. When the wife got laid off that put a pinch in the ad budget but with her background she is doing all the marketing and business side of things.
Ad went out Monday and got our first official call this morning! Of course the ad company has no idea how someone 45 MILES away got the ad, but hey work is work

GL NoOne I've done side IT work for years and tried doing it full time but it just wasn't for me. I have some new network cables I can donate to your company if you're interested. They're only 5 footers but the price is right!
