Default Does 7-UP really help you when your sick?

I got a fever and cant stop throwing up and my throat hurts.

Doc said drink plenty of fluids. Does that mean drink plenty of water or gatorade or what.. I have always heard that 7-UP helps your stomach. should I be drinking allot of 7-UP?

My mom always gave me either Sprite or 7-Up when I was sick as a child.

Now, if I feel like sheeit... I reach for a cold Pepsi.

A Sprite and chicken nuggets from McDonalds make me feel better when I am sick...it is what my mom always got me when I was sick.

Not really...

You should see some of the home remedies people come in with in the E.R.

One of Mom's remedies alright.

You could tell you were really sick if she made it flat 7up. I'm not sure how she got the carbonation out but it sure made me feel better.

We got a guy who came in who look like he took a bath in French's yellow Mustard. It was all over his arms, face, legs, etc, and I asked what the hell happened. Come to find out the guy had a bad sunburn and his "Momma" always put mustard on his burns as a child.

Ginger ale works to settle an upset stomach, but water is better for hydration.

Ginger ale is still good for hydration as it has no caffeine.

Gatorade, or even better, Pedialyte. They also make pedialyte popsicles. Not super tasty, but good for the dehydration, and easier to get down than chugging a glass of water...

I don't recall saying it wasn't. With that ginger ale is much better for your stomach as it contains ginger. All 7up does is hydrate you.
